eBay is a crazy **bleep** place. You can be selling and doing your job for more than 10 years with everything going well, and then they roll out a new algorithm — and suddenly you’re blacklisted.

This community is also kind of useless, because all I ever hear is “contact eBay.” But we all know eBay won’t tell you anything. This place should be about sharing experiences and explaining in detail how others overcame similar problems, but instead, most replies are just “contact eBay.” So why does this community even exist?

If there’s anyone here who has actually been through this, did you get your money after 190 days?

I sold a lot of items the week before I was suspended. eBay even messaged me saying that if there were more sales and no more open disputes, my account would be reinstated — which turned out to be a lie. I shipped all the items with trackable numbers.

So are they just stealing my money? I understand holding the funds for 2 months — until all items are received and the 30-day return policy passes — but 190 days is ridiculous.

I have never seen someone come back from a permanent suspension. There isn’t much to discuss.

At the moment only main question: will ebay give my earned money?

I'm guessing that sellers that have been permanently suspended are not hanging around in the eBay community boards, since they can no longer sell here. They have probably quickly moved on to other seller sites. So, probably no one reading this has had the experience that you are having and can commiserate with you or give you advice. That is why for this particular topic, the only advice people can give you is to contact eBay, which is the correct advice for this topic. Just my opinion, regarding the 190 days, that is probably a case-by-case situation. EBay doesn't want to have to pay for a refund for something you sold, so the 190 days is beyond what credit cards will refund to dissatisfied buyers. Good luck.

It's interesting that whatever eBay suspended you for doesn't show up in your feedback.

"You can be selling and doing your job for more than 10 years with everything going well, and then they roll out a new algorithm — and suddenly you’re blacklisted."

The world has changed in those 10 years.  Both the volume of shipping and it's cost have increased exponentially.   The BBE issue of shipping car parts from Latvia to the US is not the same as shipping a pair of mittens.

"At the moment only main question: will ebay give my earned money?"

Most likely yes.

Perhaps you're unaware of this:  These Boards are composed of fellow eBayers, buyers and sellers, who volunteer their time here to help others and answer questions if/when we can.  As such, we have no authority to fix your problems and that's the reason that the answer is often "Contact eBay".   Sorry to hear you're disappointed with our limitations.

190 days is six months roughly. Which is the time needed to make sure if any of your buyers file a PayPal claim, they can refund them. If no claim, you will get your money. As I always say to sellers, once eBay starts asking questions, requesting invoices, receipts, and restricting your account, stop selling. Every sale you make after that point is money that is going o be held.

I can't offer any advice...

but I agree that is absolutely CRAZY!

You blow me away in sales...feedback...followers...everything.

Good luck.

Like @historypapers stated, no sellers ever come back here and state they have had their issues resolved to their satisfaction.

The communication from EBay is clear. Permanent suspension and funds to be released within 190 days. Nothing "The Community" can do for your situation.

When you get paid, please come back to this thread and let us know exactly how long it took. I think you would be the 1st to do so.

Yes, you'll get your money but it might take an little while.

They want to make sure there's no chance of a refund, which could take 6 months or more.

Have a great day.

You have been hit by the Ebay Bad Buyer Experience Rate enforcement, a long overdue improvement in Ebay customer service.

It is a serious enough problem that there are no success stories which are available to be shared.

US buyers have been hit by problems associated with sellers who ship internationally and Ebay provides no information on how to recover your ability to sell if it has been removed.

Credit card chargebacks can take up to 6 months to resolve, add additional 10 days for good measures and you will get your money.

you were suspended for violating ebay policies.. dont blame the algorithm

It probably would have if the feedback wasn't revised.

Have a great day.

Unfortunately no one here can help you.  You have to deal directly with Ebay.  Only Ebay can resolve this issue.  I do wish you the best of luck as it is likely going to take a lot of effort on your part.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/ebay

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

My situation is very similar to yours. In my last 100 transactions, I had only 3 so-called “defective” INR cases:

  • 2 were opened by mistake, the buyers later confirmed they received the items.

  • 1 parcel was lost in transit internationally, and I immediately refunded the buyer.

All of these were resolved without eBay intervention, yet I received a full selling restriction. There was no clear explanation of the exact reasons, and my funds are now on hold.

I’ve been contacting eBay support repeatedly, but I only receive the same template responses with no real review of my case.
