I'm looking for directions on some sort of durable and hopefully trimmable type of board that I can use for a white surface/background for pics. I've been using those thin foam boards that you can get at places like Hobby Lobby but they can get dented up and marked up over time, especially when you place heavier items on them. Would love some type of a thin plastic that I can cut to fit certain picture taking spots and it also easy to wipe down.

What size do you need and what's your budget?
You can get sheets of white plastic from home improvement store.
You can get a white acrylic cutting board (there are websites that will do custom sizes).
You can use plain white poster board (the paper kind that's slightly heavier than cardstock) and cover it with white contact paper so it's wipeable.
You can get a white photo box which has a plastic-y fabric.
You can use a plain white sheet - the kind for a bed - and tape the ends securely to pull out any wrinkles. Throw it in the wash with bleach when needed.
You can get plywood cut to size, spray paint it white and refresh the paint when needed.
There are a lot of options. Depends on your budget and the size you need.

Here's a link to an eBay search for pvc photo backdrop, filtered to color white:

Exactly what I do. I have a white sheet tacked to the wall and then cover a table with a white sheet and push it against the wall.
Wash the sheet on the table periodically.

Shower curtain from $ Tree. Might not be pure white.

You guys are on fire tonight!
I have a white doggie, he loves taking pictures.
Seriously, I love the photo box idea, sheets you can grab also at a dollar general store and not pay alot of $$.

Plastic would not be a good choice esp if it has a shiny surface, too much light bounce.
Besides white you might consider photo gray. Do a search on using photo gray and taking photos.
