Subscriber emails Nov. 2017

Hello. Quick question. Does anyone have followers or attempt to obtain followers through eBays email subscription list anymore?

I noticed that we have few followers and no matter how rare I make the emails only a few people open them and we get no sales lifts from it. In your experience, do people just come online and ignore the promotional emails and announcements and just buy what they want like Amazon? If so I don't want to be using my time decorating the store or composing emails for 1 or 2 people to open them. This feature seemed to be successful back in 2003 but has dwindled since.

So at the end of 2017 going into 2018, is the age of eBay's subscriber email 1990s format not worth the effort? It doesn't appear people go for this anymore. Opinions please and thanks.

People follow for many reasons, most do not want to be blasted with news letters and such.

I have found that most followers are just competitors seeing if you got your asking price.

( I follow one seller, a gal who has vintage turn table styluses, my 1970's one will need replaced )

But then again I can find music on the internet,

I know frequency is not the issue for me. I hate commercial emails and newsletter's so I limit them to once every 2 months maybe. I announce things such as sales and new lots coming in, stuff like that. Seems like people don't want to be bothered anymore for emails. Maybe blogging somewhere is more effective?

I just looked and I have 111 subscribers.  I have sent 2 emails in the past, announcing that I would be able to obtain a specific item at a good price, and asking if anyone was interested.  I got no replies.

I figured those interested in my merchandise would simply add me as a favorite seller and look in once in a while.

I have quite a few, even though I haven't listed anything in a while.

I don't know much about this. I am under the impression that they just want to know when you list new items. Most of mine are repeat customers.
