Hello,
I’m thinking about selling on eBay, but I want to be reassured that my personal information will remain safe.
when I get around to submitting my Social Security number to receive a 1099, I hope it is through the messaging system when I’m logged in to my account on the app. I prefer that than receiving an email from eBay, requesting me to click a link.
Although it may be a real email, I still try to avoid clicking links in emails because you never know if it is an imposter. It probably appears in my account messages anyway… But just wanna make sure. And, same thing with my bank account number… I imagine they ask for it when I’m logged in to my account in my app, and it appears in the eBay messaging mail.
I prefer submitting all information when I’m logged into my account instead of emails with links.
And, (extra question). Can I function as a seller with all the options I need compared to the desktop version by just using the eBay app on my iPad and iPhone without having to take out my laptop?
Thanks in advance!

You can enter it all through the desktop and avoid any emails. Go to your account settings to do that..

Ebay doesnt use emails to register bank accounts or ss#. As far as I know, you can use the app for your seller functions. But some sellers have complained when buyers used the app that their shipping prices were incorrect. Showing 'free shipping',instead of the posted shipping fee.So keep an eye on that.
To register your bank account for selling on eBay, go to the "Payments" section in your My eBay account, select "Add payment option," choose "Bank account," and then follow the prompts to enter your banking details; you will likely need to verify your account by logging into your online banking or through micro-deposits sent to your checking account
