OK, just a brief summary, I had a non-paying bidder followed by a flake sending me emails (in hard to read english) trying to low ball the price. I block this buyer, relist as a BIN with IPR and it finally sold and is paid for. Now here's the kicker, after all the previous weirdness, get this, it's being shipped to Houston, Texas, yup right where the storm is right now where they are predicting 24 inches of rain over the next several days

So I hope the guy is safe and has no damage to his home and belonings but I guess this will be a delayed shipment. Course not being able to ship within three days having recently started selling with this account will screw up my rating on ebay, affect how fast the money will be released, (provided the buyer will be able to go through with the sale) and it looks like it affects seller protection through PayPal.

All I can say is it's been interesting so far. Think I might take a break in ebay selling for a short while after this one.

We offer protection for any seller impacted by this. That would sellers located in the affected area, sellers who sold to the affected area and sellers whose items had a transit pathway through the affected area. While automatic protections will be applied to any transactions we identify as fitting one of these criteria, a seller is always welcome to contact customer service and have their specific sale reviewed. As long as the dates of the transaction fit the dates listed on any news media regarding the event, and the location of either the seller, buyer or item in transit coincides with the location of the event, the seller is protected. I'm also happy to let you know that this is the case for any such event across the country and throughout the year, even if an eBay announcement is not made. For example, a snowstorm in rural Wyoming may knock out power for a day, delaying shipment for sellers in the area. As long as this is verifiable on a third party source (any news website would be sufficient), we would be able to offer appropriate protections.

Thanks for taking the time to get this info to us. I'm sure I'm not the only one that is going to be glad to hear this. I believed everything would be ok, after all, UPS told me verbally and on their sight not to ship until ok'ed by the buyer. I believe I could have still held off on delivery as the UPS site still says area affected. But I didn't want the buyer to have to wait any longer than necessary so he would want to kick.

so, today is the first day that UPS shows the buyers zip is not affected. Glad I waited those couple extra days to ship.

funny part is, we live in Florida and Irma is supposed to be worse than Harvey. We stayed for Ivan, very scary and evacuated for Dennis. Not looking forward to either choice. Everybody stay safe.
