I don't know if this is just happening to me or if it is site wide.
I normally only browse in the quilts categories and was very surprised to see
that there were NO OTHER listings or SUGGESTIONS to go to other
listings.
The several listings I looked at were very clean looking and not so crowded with
other pictures that I was astonished. It almost made me want to buy something
and I did bid on an item.
Thinking that this might only exist in the quilting category, I visited some others,
such as books, and found the very same thing. ONLY THE LISTING THE SELLER
HAD PAID FOR and not a total jumble/mish-mash of other pictures.
This might be a test. I don't know. Live in central Ohio.
No question today, just an observation.
Keep Quilting!!!!!!

Agree with @valueaddedresource
Given the importance of Ads to ebay's revenue stream, I can't imagine ebay pulling ads from listings altogether---reformatting them, maybe even reducing the number of total ads on the page? Yes, at least possible. Eliminating them? When ebay itself has said the large majority of PLS sales come from pages other than the Search Results Page? I just don't see it happening.
Right now, I'm still waiting for the new tool to appear that was mentioned in the Seller Update. Has anyone seen it yet?

Just as an additional point of interest/data - I am able to replicate/force a no ads experience by using the Brave browser with the most aggressive blocking settings on.
In my testing, that does prevent any ads from being shown on any view item page, regardless of category, but that is a user preference/setting and not anything that eBay is doing.

I know it is your desire to correct any incorrect statement you find, but really, you do it unnecessarily for reasons only you know.
@mam98031 if you want to cherry pick part of the OP while completely ignoring the rest of the context in which they clearly stated they were seeing "NO OTHER listings or SUGGESTIONS to go to other listings" and "ONLY THE LISTING THE SELLER HAD PAID FOR", that's up to you but others might find it confusing.
I was just trying to get clarification from @lindozer as to whether what they are describing is the same thing as you are describing when you said "I see it too", no other reasons behind it than that.
As I said in my previous post, I could have been clearer. I get it, you still felt I should have done better. Since my posts seem to cause you concern, feel free to ignore me. I don't mind.
I also did not say one word about you asking @lindozer anything. So I have no idea why you felt the need to qualify that.

They have been testing how listings presents since early Spring I think. Which is why members report they see different things. Some members were selected to be on the team to share opinions and thoughts on the various views. This is still in process.

I personally have never asked them to eliminate them. But I would prefer they were below our descriptions.

@mam98031 thank you but I'm very much aware of the testing they are doing on the view item page and that some users have seen various versions of the test.
However, to my knowledge, there has not yet been any version of the testing that excluded ads all together, which is what this thread is about and why I was seeking clarification and more information from the OP - if they are testing that, it would be of great interest to us all but as others have pointed out here, that is not the most likely explanation.

"...to my knowledge, there has not yet been any version of the testing that excluded ads all together..." I agree and there is likely not going to be any such version, but then I did not say that there would be or there was likely to be such a test.

Keep in mind, there have always been some sellers, I was one for a long time (I'm sure @valueaddedresource remembers this) that only gets 1 row & sometimes no rows. We never did figure out the reason & the only thing I could figure out b/c I knew the sellers, were that we were all VERY long time sellers (mid 90s), but I now have 2 like everyone else, as does the other seller I remember & just checked.
If it was happening on all your results, as opposed to just a few, it could be you're in a test. Keeping 🤞, it sure would be nice if buyers could see what they clicked on first, before being distracted.
@simply-the-best-for-you I spoke to someone very high up in the ads department about this when it came up a few months ago that some sellers mysteriously had no ads shown on their listings and the final answer I got was it was a "bug" that they very promptly fixed...if only every bug got such priority, right? 😂
All of the examples I had of sellers who didn't have ads at that time did start showing them after the "fix", so it seemed like that was a plausible answer.
I haven't seen any other reports except this one since then - I'd love to hold out hope they may actually be testing an ad free view item page but sadly I think it's much more likely either a browser/ad block issue or another "bug" that I'm sure will be top priority again.
Yeah, I do remember that now tha tyou mention it.
I use an adblocker & have never had it affect those. Interesting that you were able to create a situation where it does. The hoping it's a test, I'm sure was just wishful thinking on my part LOL.

@simply-the-best-for-you I did some more playing around in Brave and it looks like the "script blocking" feature is the part that does the trick as far as removing all ads from the page - ad blocking alone wasn't enough.
Unfortunately blocking all scripts also disables other functionality on the page, like the add to cart or watch list buttons, so obviously that's not really a solution. 😂
I might do some more testing just for fun to see if it's possible to block just the scripts for PL ads only but yeah, either way my money is still on the OP's lack of ads being a browser issue or glitch unfortunately.

@valueaddedresource As I mentioned above, most of ebay's PLS revenue comes from sales made from the listing pages. There is no financial incentive for ebay to remove those ads unless ebay has data to show that the revenue they make from the ads is less than any revenue they might be losing because buyers are not happy with the layout. And I doubt that is what they are seeing. Even if they are seeing some buyer unhappiness, it would be far more likely that they would test different placements, different modules and so forth.
I think ultimately, they are trying to figure out which layout provides the best sales increase. I think it is possible that they will decide that fewer, but better selected, listings might be best. But maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Yes, I am using two ad blockers. But neither has ever blocked ads on listing pages.
I use Chrome.

I use Chrome too, but I don't use ad blockers.
