Stores Tutorial Available Now from eBay

A big thank you to @valueaddedresource  who discovered this today, and to the Stores Team for putting it together---we now have a basic tutorial for the new store features : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chDk5pLiLu8

Looks like it was just posted to ebay's YouTube channel today, but I assume was made earlier, because it does not include a couple of the newest features, the About video and the addition of Promotions to Banners. Still, a step in the right direction. 

I was especially pleased to hear that more features are coming in 2022 (no details) and that additional newsletter templates are also coming. 

Personally, I think the stores team has made a good start...now, if we can just get buyers to actually go to the Stores Homepage....Store design was ignored by ebay for so many years, and the old store home page had no features that really made it worth going to....so buyers aren't in the habit of going there. I hope some of the 2022 changes will be focused on getting buyers TO the page.

You're welcome @my-cottage-books-and-antiques  - I agree it's a step in the right direction and I hope the stores team and other teams at eBay keep going with this kind of content!

My favorite part of the seller check ins always used to be Harry Temkin's demos because it gave a lot of detail into not just *what* new features are but *how* to use them, so I'm very much in favor of eBay bringing more of that kind of content into play.

I also liked the stats shown at the beginning that give a little insight into traffic to stores and the impact it has on buyers - more of that too please!

I see they've also now posted an Announcement letting people know that Video is now available for the Store's About page.

@creativecrisis Yes, I'm hoping ebay has finally realized that sellers can do more than provide inventory for the site, we can also build our businesses here if we have the tools to do the job.  I just looked at your store, and I can certainly imagine you benefiting from a video on your Store's About page....

We'd been working with the Stores team on the video but I didn't want to say anything until it had gotten uploaded (because you never know) but I was in meetings most of today and didn't realize today was the day!

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques  I was trying to think of some ideas for how sellers can "promote" their new store designs/about videos etc. to buyers and thought maybe the newsletter feature would be a way to do that?

You could send out a newsletter to subscribers and in the personalized message area put something like "check out our new store design and about video" or something more creative than I can think of at the moment. 🙂

It doesn't get the world out on a massive scale like a more official site wide announcement or eBay marketing effort would, but could at least get some past buyers to come by and check it out.

While I was checking out the possibilities for how something like that might work, I happened to notice they've added a new newsletter template for sending a coupon too.

Thanks @valueaddedresource  Good suggestion---and good catch on the third template---I'll be giving that a try! Now, if only ebay would make it easier for buyers to sign up for our newsletters LOL!
