Store categories only visible if there's a listing?

Are categories in a store only visible if there's a listing posted within them?

I'd prefer to have my categories visible, even if they're briefly empty, to let shoppers know that I have some of those things and I want them to check back for them. Is this an option?

Wishful thinking but my guess is 99.9% of all ebay shoppers in the world would never go back to your store to see if you may list something in a specific category one day. I would not worry about it.

What you want makes sense ... unfortunately it's not an option at  this time.
