Store Upgrade

If I have 1,000+ items ready to go, does it matter when I upgrade to a premium store? I know the monthly fee is prorated but I believe I still get the 1,000 fixed/500 auction regardless of when I upgrade. Any advice? Would it be better to wait until the first of the month? Do it now?  Thanks.

The fee is prorated for the exact number of days that the store is active in your first month.  You get the whole month's worth of free insertions regardless of when you sign up during the month.

 So signing up on the first of the month is the least strategic way to do it.  If you sign up in late March, you get all 1000 free insertions for March, for just a fraction of the regular monthly price.
