I need to click and reload 5-7 times before i can finally stop promotion of a listing. I wonder why? Ad Blocker disabled. I do not have similar difficulties elsewhere.

some screens, find the campaign under Marketing Tab, click Advertising Dashboard

Scroll to the bottom to the campaign, click on the arrow next to Edit, click End, follow the prompt that will come up, that will end the campaign and end all your PL elections. If don't want to end all, click on Edit go into campaign and you can end remove listings don't wish to promote anymore through the campaign.
The glitch your having can be issue, can report it on the tech board see if others having the same issue, tons of glitches happening lately so it's possible others have had it too.

The great truth is there isn't one
And it only gets worse since that conclusion...

I don’t have that issue when I’m on eBay. I don’t even know what a Z promotion is.

don't have the issue either.
But - if you are, and you didn't mention how your doing this, I assume you doing it through Seller Hub listings tab at each listing. You can instead go into the PL campaign and end promotions from the campaign, or if wish to end all promotions, simply end the campaign and will kill all your PL elections.
