Sri Lankans taking over?

While trying to observe my search exposure I came across about half a dozen different sellers all from Sri Lanka stealing my photos and listing title from one of my listings. They are all rather new accounts opened within the last month and a half or so.

I see they have a couple thousand listings likely with stolen photos and titles from other sellers. All of their listings abuse the multi variation systems by offering a digital image for super cheap (these are supposed to be clothing listings). I also notice the location specified on all these listings say “New York, United States, Sri Lanka”.

I doubt they are using me to drop ship because their prices for some of the clothing is only about 1 dollar or so more than my prices. Also they offer more variations than I carry myself for the clothing. I wonder if this is a new trend that’s starting.

Sri Lankans taking over?

@iamalwaysright

It's been pretty historical here on this forum that the Sri lankan sellers seldom last long on eBay.  Given 2-3 years ago when they were swarming these boards with ridiculous questions only to come back & complain that they had been suspended.  The Sri lankans are noted to be very savvy and smart when it comes to computers, the medical field and mathematics, however from what I've seen in the past, business is not one of their strong suits.  When you see a wooden cup listed for $100 and shipping cost is $200 you just have to wonder and shake your head.  They were even worse with drop shipping from China and the vendors in China took full advantage of it and them. I wouldn't sweat it.

Happy Selling
