Sports Trading Card Categories Changed - Item Specifics Missing

Ebay changed its categories for sports trading cards from sport oriented to product oriented today without any advance notice.  I noticed it when I went to sell a new item by referencing one of my existing items and doing a "sell similar" and got no category listing. Since the item specifics still existed I could fill all of them out and list my item but it defaulted to the catch-all category of trading card singles as there were no others. I called and complained and got an email 2 hours later explaining the new approach.

Then eBay found a way to completely destroy the sports card category. If you try to revise a listing to get it into the correct product group or try to enter a new listing ALL ITEM SPECIFICS DISAPPEAR! I am a generalist and only have 100 of my 11000 items in sports trading cards but imagine if you have thousands of items in this category and can no longer revise them or add new ones with correct item specifics! What a disaster. Why doesn't eBay check things out before they destroy something that works?

CATEGORIES UPDATE 7/2021:

WE NEED EBAYE TO CHANGE IT BACK TO THE OLD CATEGORY SPECIFIC FORMAT !!!!

Yes, this simplified 2021 category change is HORRIBLE !!!

When i search for something now, ebaye search returns millions of unrelated items from ALL categories !!! Search is even EXCLUDING words typed into search this returning FALSE RESULTS !

Hear me out Ebaye, the search engine is not Googlu search OK? Nobody needs ALTERNATE & MISLEADING SEARCH RESULTS HERE !! 

EXAMPLE:

If I'm looking to purchase a "KOBE BRYANT ROOKIE CARD" and search ebaye

WHY IS IT RETURNING MILLIONS OF UNRELATED PLAYERS, FOOTBALL, SOCCER, GOLF, UFC, MLB, NHL, ETC ETC ETC.

?????????????????????

Because of sellers item specifics put kobe bryant in the players name spot?

And Search decided to EXCLUDE the word Rookie?????  Using QUOTES in search used to work.. (results must include)..

A selling/buying platform is DEPENDANT on SEARCH. 

Because of this 'Simplified Category' update, Buyers are being mislead and forced to see and sift through TONS of irrelevant results.

THIS NEW CATEGORY MAKES IT SOO MUCH HARDER TO FIND THINGS AND IS SO ANNOYING !! I only collect 1 GENRE of Sports Cards. I HAVE NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER IN SEEING A BUNCH OF SOCCER CARDS AND EVERYTHING ELSE WHEN I SEARCH!!! AND ITS VERY IRRITATING !!!!

SELLING?????? VIEWS AND SALES OF OUR GENRE SPECIFIC ITEMS HAVE BEED TREMENDOUSLY AFFECTED IN A BAD WAY!!!

ITEM VIEWS AND WATCHERS HAVE DROPPED SOOOO MUCH. WHY???  

People are DETOURED and SCROLLING THROUGH EVERY CATEGORY NOW!!! 

THE SEARCH IS NOW NON-CATEGORY SPECIFIC, AUTOMATED RESULTS.

I guess the solution is.,

everybody should type exactly what theyre looking for???

not "kobe rookie" in the NBA Category to see all the different kobe rookie cards?

You have to search individually, full titles like:

1996-97 Topps Kobe Bryant #138 Rookie Card NBA

Not everybody includes ALL the product info in the title ok...

Well., Bottom Line is:

There are no CATEGORIES anymore AND WE NEED THE OLD SEARCH & CATEGORY FORMAT TO RETURN BECAUSE THIS SUCKS ! ! ! I FEEL LIKE IM SEARCHING ON WI$H ! ! 

PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK !  IT IS BROKEN, PLEASE FIX IT !

NOBODY LIKES THE NEW OR LACK OF CATEGORIES !

I have been having an issue with printing out the standard envelopes for card that I have sold for under the $20 limit and this change over MAY have precipitated this problem.  I first noticed this issue the first part of June and here it is mid July and the problem is STILL NOT FIXED...I have been told their Tech Team is working on it...for over a month and a half....🤡

We have just decided to stop selling on ebay unless its a big ticket item.  Our websites do better and its absolutely not worth listing stuff on ebay when each item takes some much time.  Unless you have a big ticket item its not worth selling on ebay.
