Just curious how everyone feels about eBay now inserting two lines of "sponsored items" in their listings between the pics/shipping section and the item description?
I don't care for it myself. When I'm selling something, I don't need eBay suggesting that my potential buyer/bidder go somewhere else to purchase. When I'm buying something, I'm scrolling down because I want to see what the seller has to say about his item, not "hey - you should buy this other guys item instead!" If I've used the search properly, there's a very good chance the other guys item is somewhere in the results anyway.
(you won't see them if you're looking at one of your own items, but everyone else does)

That's been done for years......no one likes it..........at least in some form, if not promoted listings.

The last two items I bought on eBay were a result of seeing those promoted listings while looking at a listing page for an item that I probably never would have bought.
Those two sellers probably feel pretty good about eBay showing me those ads and the seller whose listing I was looking at lost nothing because I wasn't going to buy their item anyway.

I can see your point. I also spend my time looking at a listing page for an item I probably would never buy as well.
