South Korean and United Kingdom sellers:fraud?

Back in 2016 I came across a seller who is presumably based in South Korea.Now in 2017 I came across a seller who is based in the United Kingdom. They look legit,but they are somewhat suspiscious. What do I do? Are UK and South Korean sellers legit or fraud?

Sincerely,Pierre Chrispin

@pierrchrispi0

The moderator removed the seller's name so I have no idea who it was. What type of item are you purchasing from South Korea?

I have purchased several items from South Korea over the past two years and have been very happy with the items. Items are always as described, packaged well, good communication from seller, and shipments take 2 to 3 weeks (versus China which can take 3 to 5 weeks).

In a world where you can be anything, be kind.

Re: South Korean and United Kingdom sellers:fraud?

I suppose this is a good time and place to say the following.

When I came to Ebay, there wasn't all of this mistrust. When someone came along with a question, a bid, their account was new or whatever I wasn't worried. Scams were so rare. The buyers trusted me, I trusted them. They asked for something, I gave it to them, they paid etc. It started to turn in 2008. Ebay stuck themselves in the middle as a wedge and gradually buyers and sellers became adversaries. They also got the reputation for always letting the buyer get shafted and giving away the sellers money. Numerous changes eroded the old friendly fun buying and selling atmosphere. Now people on here are so terrified of every little transaction or message that it's just snowballing and getting to the point that soon it won't be possible to do business. People expect the worst, and often get just that.

Re: South Korean and United Kingdom sellers:fraud?

It's generally not a good idea to generalize groups of people, but from what I have seen, South Koreans (and North Koreans) hold themselves to a very high moral standard, are very hard working and trustworthy people. I have never met one that I didn't like a lot. If it were me (only an opion here) I would not be afraid to deal with someone in South Korea. People a mile from me are another story  LOL. I would trade a hundred Floridians for South Koreans and pay the airfare any day !

@campesinoplastic2014

J.J.A's prize was Golitsin (sp) a false Russian defector.

Hundreds of intellegence officers around the world were killed.

Angelton was a train wreck for American intellegence.

I spent about 20 years doing research in the gov't archives, ( in another life )

It's funny what is hidden in plain sight

The feds will black out a name in one document,

but in a different document they will give a clue.

Then you make a phone call to a retired officer.

about a secret plan to over throw a small island nation.

And he says you got the story down pat.

@campesinoplastic2014

I think most people are good at heart, now there are a few bad eggs, i will grant.

But for the most part I have faith in people.

But then again, I have the ability to read people.

Re: South Korean and United Kingdom sellers:fraud?

Golitsyn and Nosenko had him eating out of their hand. Golisyn tied that guy in knots. The only thing I can think of is that Golitsyn fed him some fantasy and he was ripe for it. He and Yuri had him scared of his own shadows. The bourbon wasn't helping either. We had some good ones running our Ministry too though, we had Serov, Shelepin, Semichastny, Kryuchkov, and depending on how you look at it there was Andropov and Bakatin and Putin.  These guys had one hand on the bottle and the other on the red button throughout the duration of the cold war !!!!  It's scary as heck if you actually know what was really going on !!!

Re: South Korean and United Kingdom sellers:fraud?

I think it is unrealistic to label all sellers in a particular country as fraudulent.

Judging by all the success and good luck you've had so far on eBay, I'd say you don't much to be conderned about

Re: South Korean and United Kingdom sellers:fraud?

So I want to apologize for what happened and I will make sure it never happens again.Anyways,I came across a product alledgedly being sold by a seller based in South Korea.Later I came across a product being sold by a seller in the United Kingdom. I later search for the items in question using the "US Only" filter and it say this: "3 items found by eBay international sellers" and it showed the items.What do I do?

Is it ok to buy from these sellers? Sincerely,Pierre Chrispin

@pierrchrispi0

You need to set your search filters...

But keep in mind the next search you do... ebay...

I think will default back to the entire world.
