I've had an account w/Ebay since 2001. I consider myself still a "newbie"/"novice" at the selling aspect and only dabbled in the buying process over the years. During the course of the last 2 years, I have been more heavily involved in listing items more aggressively to aid in the clearing out of my parents estate. A lot of work. I have noticed a systematic and steady decline in both sales and viewers irrespective of how I title the item, place it for a bid starting at .99c etc. (What people are willing to spend daily at Starbucks still amazes me). There is simply no traction on my items at all. This really appears to have fallen off the cliff this February vs. December of '23. I add'l noticed a complete overhaul of the mobile site home page and wondered if there are new algorithms in place such that the little guy (ME!) with little if any followers is doomed. Paying for promotions, shipping and offering a 30 day return really is a stretch for me. Guidance?

Hello. I sell gemstones here, mostly. I took a look at your listings. You've got some nice and interesting items. So, sometimes these dips in activity occur for no reason of our own. But, since you asked - here are a few things IMHO. The backgrounds of most photos are too gray, which makes the items not pop out to the potential buyer. Your application of so many different shipping prices might make shopping/browsing in your store a little frustrating. I think that you should raise the prices and make all items "free shipping" (maybe one consistent fee on really heavy items). BTW, I took a detailed look at your malachite, amethyst, opal necklace. I see misspellings. Are you sure that the dark stones are opal? I see no play-of-color. Also, you state "Fred is most appreciated" - huh? What is Fred? I hope this helps!

FWIW, Ebay used to be the place to list something and see it sell quickly, since items were kind of unique and hard to find. NOW it is a regular ecommerce site among dozens.
I JUST sold a vintage Deluxe Scrabble game I have had listed for about 9 years. So if you are selling off an estate (or what's left), be patient. It may take some years before this (very cool stuff I see listed) sells.
I'm sorry you're going through this phase of life with the loss of your parents

Every day, there are multiple posts on this board from sellers who are not getting any sales or even views.
Every day, there are over a billion listings on eBay so the chances of anyone's listings being seen are slim at best. Search doesn't work correctly, and almost every category is oversaturated.
You have some interesting items but I have no idea how "desirable" they are. You also have some things that are probably a waste of your time to even list such as those desk "clothespin" clips, empty presentation boxes, and unbranded scarves. You have many items listed as auctions which is not a good idea unless the item is very collectable or desirable; buyers want immediate gratification, not to wait for an auction to end and most won't waste their time bidding on common items. It is better to decide on a price and list as buy it now. Don't pay for promoted listings.
You have a couple of expensive bracelets listed. You are a low feedback seller and scammers galore are just waiting to take advantage of "inexperienced" sellers. Never list anything that you can't afford to lose. You say "no returns" but eBay has a buyer money back guarantee that overrides your no returns. No returns does not mean no refunds. Be sure you understand this or you could end up losing both your item and your money. The same with "local pickup"; be sure you know the ins and outs of local pickup or again, you could end up losing your item and your money.
