Sellers' photos are available for anyone else to use on their listings. There are no proprietary rights on photos posted on eBay listings.

I saw a listing with one of my pictures the other day. I decided to contact the seller first. They apologized saying someone that works with them grabbed it. They took it down immediately.

Here's my personal take on the issue of someone using my photos. If I were to create an item, something OOAK that came from my imagination and found someone selling it listed as if they had been the maker, than I would pursue retribution. If I take photos of items that I am simply selling but did not actually create, than my personal attitude is one of, "I really do take great photos because strangers want to use them for their own listings".... It's all about perspective. Best of luck to you....

A seller complained about a photo of a rare gold piano in his living room being used by other seller. eBay did zip.

Way back in the day, when you had to host your own pictures, often thieves would use your photos by linking to them. It was always fun, when you found one, to swap out the photo for one that would embarrass the thief.

Buy the item and then leave them a negative feedback. Its dirty, and its mean. Or you could use eBay suggestion and contact that seller and ask them to not use your photo. But in that instance the seller is in no way obligated to comply with your request.

Speaking for only for myself, personally this is what I do with my photos here on eBay......😉

..... but fair warning, following my example could result in consequences.

A long time ago I saw a lead photo for a seller's item here on eBay that was similar to this one.

Well, in a way that is what I thought. Of all the sellers they are using one of my photos. I have been taking photos for years and have never gotten good at it!
