Did you mean:

Someone from a different account claiming to be the buyer wants me to cancel the order.

I sold an item last night today I wake up to 2 messages from 2 different accounts neither one are the buyers account, asking to cancel the order. The items paid for and I'm ready to ship. Do I just ignore the messages and ship or what. Also the country listed is different aswell

I would let them know that only the buyer can cancel the sale.  If you are short on time, I would mail now.

If you have an extra day I would contact the buyer and ask if they wanted to cancel.

There is no way that I would respond in any way, shape, or form to those messages not associated with the sale. Well actually, I would respond, but it would be in the form of new additions to my "best buddy list" with the "communications blocked" box check marked.

I would only cancel the order if the actual BUYER asked to cancel.

Anyone else but the buyer, ignore the request and ship.

Yes, you ignore the messages and ship. Anyone can send you a message at any time, but if the message does not come from the ID of your buyer, it has nothing to do with your sale.

Re: Someone from a different account claiming to be the buyer wants me to cancel the order.

it's a scam. Whoever is asking you to cancel must want the item. Was it rare / expensive? I have read similar posts this year on this topic.

Was it an auction? You should be able to see who made bids. Wonder if the two asking you to cancel is one of them? They may be operating under multiple I.D.'s

If the true buyer wanted to cancel, there is a process for that, and eBay will send you a message.

Good Luck!

you may also want to report the two who contacted you to cancel to eBay and add them to your block list if you feel that they are scammers.

Re: Someone from a different account claiming to be the buyer wants me to cancel the order.

I had this happen to me on a different platform where suddenly my order was canceled. I knew I had gotten an incredible deal and had purchased it within a few minutes of it being posted, so I just assumed the seller got a higher offer from someone else. Luckily I took a chance and I reached out to the seller nicely to find out why it had been canceled. They were horrified to find out that I was not the one that had messaged them to cancel it but it was someone else who claimed they had accidentally bought it with the wrong account because they wanted the item badly enough. She actually lowered the price even more for me to purchase it again and threw in a bunch of free stuff because she felt so bad. ( it was a large lot of Littlest Pet Shop items that I gave my son and she threw in a bunch of free calico Critter furniture that he still plays with and loves)
