Hi,
I sold an item one Sunday and received payment from the buyer in Russia, but their address is as follows:

That is a shipping forwarder address. The suite number is actually his account number they use to know what address in Russia to ship to. There are ship forwarders in many coastal cities. This is one of them. Once it's shown as delivered there, you've fulfilled what is required to be covered by seller protection as far as delivery is concerned.

I just googled that address. It's a reshipper.....but when I read further there seems to be a lot of problems with the people using them. It seems like a lot of people from Russia use it and your buyer could be fine...however since all a buyer can get is positive feedback it's not really an indication he's trustworthy. Hopefully someone with more experience will be coming here soon to tell you how to proceed.

if i put signature needed, would this complicate things?
I just want to make sure things are good on my end.

I've shipped dozens of items through these reshipper addresses. I actually have fewer problems than US customers because these folks have no real good way to return an item. If they claim SNAD or Buyer's remorse, just approve the return. They can't afford to ship it back from their home country. I did have ONE payment dispute because the buyer CC was actually frauded. Didn't cost me anything due to seller protection. But, that's the only time I've had an issue. I do have some repeat customers who use the reshippers as well. They can't get my products inexpensively in some other countries.

No, the reshipper will sign for it. It's really an unnecessary expense though. Once the item is delivered to the reshipper, you're good.

No, it's just that the sellers who have no problems with the reshipper have no need to post about it. Consequently, you can Google any reshipper address and find all kinds of horror stories about the buyers who had shipments sent to this reshipper or that reshipper, and nothing about the sellers who had no problems at all... because, you know, there was nothing to complain about.
You ship to the address received with the payment, and as soon as the package shows a Delivered status to that address, your delivery obligation is complete. If the buyer wants to return the item later, he will have to get it back to his U.S. reshipper first, because that is where your return label will be sent.

It would not necessarily complicate things, as the reshipper employees would sign for it anyway, but it would be a needless expense on your part if the sale is less than $750, because Signature Confirmation is only required by eBay/PayPal on sales at that price or above. Below $750, Signature Confirmation gets you no additional protection beyond what Delivery Confirmation gets you for free.

I understand the need to use a reshipper. There are things I would love to buy on eay uk, ebay france, ebay germany but they won't sell to the States...It is just this particular one which seems to have a lot of bad baggage accompanying it.

As AC_green said, you can google each address and read buyer horror stories. I've shipped through the one in Delaware, Florida, Washington State, California, etc. Never with an issue that impacted me. Asia uses west coast and Europe uses east coast reshippers. I treat these no differently than any other orders I receive. I pack the same way and ship just like the buyer were living in that little reshipper warehouse in Delaware.

Like I said in another post, when I googled the address, I saw a lot of horror stories about this particular reshipper so I felt a need to mention it as the OP didn't seem well acquainted with them. If he is requiring a signature then it's most likely an expensive item...so I wanted him to be informed.

I don't think his item requires signature. I think he wanted to know if a signature would help provide additional protection. At least that's the way I read it. But, if it's over $750, then you must have signature. Otherwise, unnecessary, IMO.

Adding a signature requirement will do nothing more than shipping with tracking will do for you.

that was my thinking. I wasn't sure if adding signature confirmation added additional protection.
I am now going to ship the item and go from there.
