I’ve been selling items for about 2 weeks now on eBay and about 10 times in a row I get 0 feedback buyers who ALL ask me to text them for “questions”. Obviously it’s a scam so I tactfully tell them to just message me on eBay and not through texting and after I say that they just ignore me so I end up cancelling the order and relisting. How long will this continue? I’ve only actually legitimately sold 1 item and the 9-10 other “sales” were fake. Does anyone have experience with this? It’s getting annoying Thanks

Yes, as a new seller with 0 feedback attempting to sell high value items, this will continue to happen to you. Your chances of selling a $300-$1,000 item to a non-fraudulent buyer are unbelievably low. To be completely honest, you'd probably have much better luck playing Powerball. To make matters worse, if you do happen to find that 1 in a million buyer that's honest, it's likely that your eBay account will get suspended after the fact.
Please understand that my blunt responses are well intended - to see for yourself, try searching this forum using the keywords "new seller scam". You'll find thousands of posts from frustrated new sellers, just like yourself, who have been scammed, suspended, and put right out of business before they knew what hit them.
To find out how to overcome these obstacles, try researching "New eBay seller tips" on google and/or this forum.

The best advice I've seen to new sellers with zero or low feedback is to buy some low cost items from eBay to build up your feedback. I had been buying books from eBay for years, so when I finally started selling I had about 70 feedback and never had the scammer problem. Good luck.

Sounds like you are very familiar with this scam. try selling low priced items to build up your feedback. High dollar stuff will always draw the scammers to your site.

That'll be going for a while, at least until you build a feedback count in the hundreds, and even then the high-scam items will continue to attract scam buyers. (There's no need to reply at all to a request for texting, as that is simply the mark of a scammer. Ignore the text request and cancel once you are past 4 days from the end of the listing.)
To get past the initial text scammers, list your items as Fixed Price for whatever you genuinely want to collect for them, and omit (or remove) the Make Offer button, so that you can set the Immediate Payment Required option (see the full listing form to find that checkbox). That will prevent scam buyers from snatching your item off the market without actually paying you for it first.
Once you're past that and ready to ship, there is still some risk of a fake damage or empty-box claim when the package is received. If a refund is demanded, you can still request that the item be returned first, but otherwise your seller protection for damage or missing-items claims is not as strong as that for Item Not Received claims, so don't list anything here that you cannot afford to lose in its entirety if things go seriously sideways. (Regarding that $1250 Beanie Baby, you will need to ship that with Signature Confirmation, not just Delivery Confirmation, as the final sale price will be over $750.)

Setup some type of return options ie. 30 days buyer pays. Using no returns does not mean no refunds. More than one seller has learned this the hard way. Buyer can be refunded without having to return the item and seller is out the cost of the item, the shipping and the FVF.

Thanks for all the feedback. Admittedly it is discouraging as I’m really getting passionate about flipping items on eBay. I guess I just need to keep my head down and stay smart and keep working and eventually my time will come
