So I guess the lights are back on

I guess eBay turned my lights back on. Had a few sales here and a few on other sites too. A very low offer on 1 item I had to decline cause I would’ve lost money. 

I did have my store in vacation cause I’ve been so ill. I guess I’ll put it back on vacation today or tomorrow. I need to make money but gosh I can’t hardly get out of bed these days.

My cancer testing starts tomorrow with a mammogram, not worried about that one. It’s the lung cancer I’m worried about. If there’s a God he will give me a pass this time I think I’ve suffered enough. Sorry I digress. Please pray for me and my family.

I posted this to see how everyone’s sales are going but got a little off track. God I hate putting personal stuff out there but I need all the prayers, good karma, thoughts etc that you good folks can send my way.

How are sales for you all? Good I hope.

I will be back to this post but I’m not sure if I’ll be back today it might be later in the week. There’s so much going on here right now. Thank you all! I honestly don’t know where I’d be right now if not for the eBay community!

Godspeed recovery.

I average about 3 items per day.  So far this month I have had 4 sales.  I've been going through ending all stale items and freshening them up.  I'm hoping the summer lull fades, but also suspect that there has been some site maintenance going on.

Having your store on vacation might be less stress for you. I am in a quite similar situation. I hate to talk about it but I think its okay to share for support.

It is easy to get in and out the vacation mode and I am using it as needed. 

Hang in here. There will be better days

As to eBay, in the last few weeks it seems that 1) new items get a lot more activity then items I had before the GTC mandate went live and 2) when switching from an ended Auction format listing to GTC those items get good activity too ... some selling the day they are Relisted.

I'm keeping an eye on this type of thing ... I saw a You Tube video from a Seller who says he was moving 45K per month prior to GTC and would list every new item fixed price for 7 days then 10 days then for 30 days and sales were very consistent.  Once GTC took hold his sales dropped and it took some time to figure out how to manage the issues that GTC has ... apparently he is seeing some success with a modified version of his pre-GTC mandate activity by ending GTCs after 7 days and then 10 days on the Relist ... sadly its a lot of work doing that.

Only you know whether or not you should put your store back into vacation mode.   If you are having a difficult time deciding, it probably would be best to go ahead and turn the vacation mode back on.   One less thing to worry about, IMHO.

Pat, let eBay be the last thing on your mind. Either use the vacation or teach another family member or close friend to monitor the account for you. First is yourself, and your family.

As far as my eBay these days... well, my lights are off...lol... been the slowest month in a long time, and I am at a point I need sales badly. So please keep me on your prayer list too. Thanks and God bless us all....

About sales, I am launching a few auctions frequently and larger batches of GTC (which I manage as 30-day) less frequently (too much to monitor). As a mall seller of collectibles, my sales are steady. I have noticed that sales increase as soon as I launch new listings - either auctions or GTC. Most of the time, with auctions, I receive a bid within hours if not minutes after posting.

As some members suggested, less one thing to stress on.  

Good idea to put store on vacation.  

Despatch all those sales you've had before the store vacation.

You can still can visit the forum whenever you feel like it, even though your store is on vacation.

Wife's sales are coming along OK, no complaints from her.

She is making use of ALL the allocations given to her basic store.

"Waste not, want not" = That's her moto.  

Regardless, whether auctions is not ideal for her items.

She is still making use of all the 250 auctions by spacing her items from 5 days, 7 days, 10 days

for her singles.  

Start price marked at what she is willing to take to make her minimum/max. profits, 

"All ya' need is just one bidder ..." = That's her moto.

And yes, she has single bidders on her auctions.

As to the GTC fixed price listings, manually ending with the help of the "Ending Today" column, Alarm clock -

and yes, I was robed in to help too if she needed to run errands.

Sales on the BIN is doing OK too.  Most of her BINs are variations + higher price items.

She mentioned that she had managed to clear some old stocks with multiples, maybe due to Auctions.

Since her auctions durations are 5 days through 10 days ... viewers or potential buyers when looking for ending soonest may stumble upon them and visit her store, thereby able to see what other items she had to offer.

(that's her theory for still making use all her auctions allotment).

Me? I'm just her 'shipping/packing department', working around the yard, house - regular maintenance guy in our family.
