Anyone else slow? Last few days it's really bad. And I have ALL my listings promoted right now.

They are lowering fees n sneakers above $100.00 to compete with StockX.com and kicksonFire.com. The both specialize in limited edition and vintage Nike sneakers. The market is very hot. I know a co-worker who makes
a good amount of money buying and selling Nike's. It helps that he has a girl friend working at Footlocker tipping him off on when the hot shoes are coming in the stores.

Hi, I am selling items like crazy, never before has this happened. I list something & it is sold within an hour. But, sadly hear nothing is selling on any of my accounts. I have everything hear with the lowest prices also. People are buying items for higher money rather than on here. Buyers are going elsewhere, sad this is. Oh, I take that back I did sell something for $1.99 on 1 of my other accounts on Monday. Merry Christmas to all & may 2020 bring us lot of buyers back to here!!!!

I'm a low volume seller selling in a niche market, but I had a flurry of sales from Friday to Monday. The most I have had in months. The following days weren't bad either, but nothing today. I don't expect any more sales for items intended as Christmas presents.
I had a buyer purchase an item on Friday. With a 1-day handling time, that means I ship on Monday. This buyer sent 4 messages asking when I planned to ship. I explained that with a 1-day handling time, Saturday/Sunday/holidays do not count and that the item would be shipped on Monday. I shipped on Monday. Item is in transit and expected to be delivered tomorrow, Friday.

I have not been listing here for a few years, and now have about 100 listings. Have been selling pretty well since returning, cannot complain! However, as soon as I got the "open an eBay store" email and did not open a store, the views on my listings went to 1-5 if that. Hmm. I remember from old times why I have closed my store. I do not particularly enjoy upfront expenses, especially with the high FVF here. Best of luck, everyone and happy holidays! Here is hope that the new year will bring all of us more stable traffic to our goodies.

It's one week until Christmas.
For the most part, most of the money that's going to be spent on mail order shopping has been spent.
Yeah, the USPS First Class & Priority Mail recommended deadlines haven't passed yet, but they seem to be running a bit slow this year compared to last. Throw in a seller's handling time, and, at this point, there's no guarantee most eBay orders will even ship by Christmas, let alone arrive.

I have been BUSY since Thanksgiving. No slow days.
In past years the holidays were just kinda so-so for me. Just average sales.
This year holiday sales are GOOD! Even today when i thought it might slow down ... i have several orders to fill tonight.
Good luck to everyone!

It's has been pathetic for the last 2 weeks but, most weeks are now. 3 weeks ago, I've sold more than 2x what I've made in the last 15 days. That week, I had a sale for $135 US. This almost matches my sales since then. I sold 2 items for a friend & those out sold me for 15 days, too. I won't be relying on eBay in 2020. They gave me nothing but disappointment throughout 2019. 12-15 big days out of 365?! Need to earn 75-100 a day 24/7. Lucky to make $15-20 a day here, on average. Best wishes to all for a better New Year. 🙂

@prettywoman-2012 New and returning sellers seem to get a boost in Search for a short time then you are competing with all the rest of us.
If you are willing to ship internationally, you can double the number of Free Listings to 100 by putting half of them on eBayCanada. There are quirks about doing that.
As well as the Basic Store at $25 monthly for 250 Listings (and another 250 of dotCA), you can get a starter Store which gives you 100 listings for $7.95 a month.

That is sure the truth. I feel that people have already spent the money online that they were willing or able to spend and not much is left. And shipping times are a drag. October, November, and early December were the peak times to get those buying dollars.

I had a pretty good holiday sales season with a 76 % increase in the last 30 days. I shipped out the last two this morning .Nothing has happened since then so the bump may be pretty much over .Like a previous poster mentioned its too close to Christmas at this point . Tulips

Been one of the worst 4th quarters I have ever had relative to how much inventory I have available. The throttling is a joke. I have actually done more B&M sales than I have done on eBay, and that is with minimal effort.

@reallynicestamps Thanks for your response to my post above. Yes, it seems very likely that the first 2-3 months after returning will be great. But I think I am going to also follow my good old method of listing in multiple categories, and preferably, unique items. For example, pet clothing lots, vintage jewelry, dolls, handbags, etc. as opposed to only list apparel. At least when I last listed here 2-3 years ago, this is what I have read on the forum, that listings in multiple genre of merchandise brings in more traffic than listing highly specialized items in just one category. Because people who originally clicked on a pet clothing lot, for example, may not buy that item, but may fall in love with a vintage sterling silver ring or pendant, or vice versa.
Hmm. What do you think?
Thanks
PW P.s, When I last had a store here, I was a Power Seller and TRS+ and as soon as I caved in, and opened the store, the traffic to my items dropped drastically. Has this changed, over the past few years?

Just promote all your listing to 100%. I bet they will sell! I'm just joking, I find it funny Ebay will let us promote our listing up to 100%.
Merry Christmas!

Similar experience here. Had some good weeks due to pushing auctions. Now it's predictably quiet. No auctions ending until Thursday night. I do have a Priority Mail book going out tomorrow that sold on Amazon; I sent a message saying it won't get there in time. Door is open to them to cancel if they were confused on this point.
In 2020 I need to use up more of my 1000 "free" listings a month. But I've said that for many months and it doesn't happen, not even when I have a lot of inventory to list. I bump along in the 600s for the most part. I do plan to list as many auctions as I can, not just when there is a promotion.
