Two of my sales this past weekend wound up being from international buyers. One paid on Sunday so I calculated the shipping and sent him an invoice like I always do.
The next item sold and was paid for on Monday. I went to send him an invoice and got the message that the invoice could not be edited as it was under the global shipping program and the invoice had already been sent to him.
I called Ebay support and the nice lady from the Philippines informed me I was indeed in the global shipping program. I told her I had never signed up for global shipping and I didn't want it. She said I must have "accidentally clicked on it when I was doing my listing". On the templates I use, I can't accidentally do that.
Since I had nothing to do with sending the invoice, I asked her what they charged my buyer for shipping, and it was about $11 more than what I had calculated. She did get me out of the global shipping program and she did guide me on the steps to take so I could send my buyer a new invoice with a REASONABLE shipping price.
It was just a weird experience to mail internationally one day and then all of a sudden the next day wake up and there I was in the wonderful Global Shipping program! Lol. They can keep it!
