I just got a similar message from same person, did he end up being legit?

It's a setup for a scam. Never correspond outside of the eBay message system.

You will be scammed
Plus off eBay communication is not allowed and can get you suspended ignore messages and block ID so they cannot buy from you

Simple answer is NO do not trust this person.
Only communicate through eMay messages / respond to any question any buyer or seller may have.
This is your best protection.

Absolutely, positively, 100% a scam.

SCAM
such is done to get you to give them information so they can send fake payment notice as well as get you to include gift cards (and ask you for a photo of them scratched off; resulting in your money gone). It is to con you out of goods and money.
No transaction needs to be off of ebay.

Also, they get your cell phone number, then they use that to text you reset codes for your accounts (like your google account, etc). They are violating eBay protocols. I would report potential buyer to eBay (this is an important step to help prevent them from scamming others on eBay), then I would ignore the message, and finally put them on my block list.

They are NOT legit. Any time someone asks you to contact them outside the Ebay platform it is almost always a scam. You are a new seller and a prime target. Never reply to these requests and block them as well:

Protect yourself from these types because they are everywhere.
Good luck to you.

NO NO NO and NO. Scam! Immediately block and report them. Ebay policy violation...and that is just for starters. NEVER give out personal info.
