Hi,
I sold an high value item and received an email saying the buyer has paid. However, when I try to print the postage label on eBay, it says:
“It looks like the buyer has not paid for this item yet. You should wait until we let you know that the buyer has paid before dispatching this order.”
I haven’t received any payment confirmation notification in the app yet. The buyer says I need to upload tracking details to get full payment update.
Also, I sent the buyer photos and a video of the item through their personal email as the buyer wanted (using the same email as my eBay account).
Given all this, should I wait for official payment confirmation on eBay before sending the item? Or is the email enough proof to dispatch now?
Thanks for your help!

No no no.
They asked for photos to be sent to their email so they could get your email to send you a scam message.

My advice is DO NOT MAIL. Sounds very much like a scam. I think they send a fake “paid” notice.

That is a classic scam. Never take any communication outside of eBay messages. The email you received saying you need to upload tracking details is fake, and is not from eBay. Absolutely do not ship the item to this scammer.
After 4 days, you can cancel the order for non-payment, but you can also go ahead and report the buyer now, and you can block them now to prevent any further orders or communication.

It sounds like a classic scam. Had you given the buyer your phone number to send a text?
I'm so glad you checked your ebay account rather than trusting the email.
NEVER send an item until your account tells you it's paid and to ship it.
Your buyer is trying to fool you because you're a new seller with a high-fraud laptop.
ETA: You want to add the buyer to your BBL:

What did you sell? I cannot see any of your active listings or sold history.
Maybe because you're in the U.K. ?
I have to agree with other post with the information provided. BIG SCAM!

The buyer says I need to upload tracking details to get full payment update.

That is a lie. Sounds like you are a victim of what we call a "text me (email me) scammer". They don't pay, they just want your information to send you a phony payment notice in hopes you will send the parcel along. Here in the US, we don't even get the "address" to send a product, unless payment is made. How do you know where they want it sent? Was it in the phony email?

eBay does not use Gmail email address for anything. That is a fake email.
Please forward that email with any attachments to spoof@ebay.com. Then, block the email address in your email client, and do not respond to this person again.

I see. I havent sent the item.
I clicked 'mark as payment received' when i saw the email. would that be a problem when i want to cancel in 4 days?

I'm not completely sure, but you can Mark As Unpaid in the same place, usually.

You're being scammed
The email saying you were paid is fake, hoping you'll ship.
Anytime they want photos or a video sent outside of Ebay, they are up to no good.

That email address should give you a clue, Ebay wouldn't be using a Gmail account.
