Shipping

I recently sold an item and the buyer paid via PayPal. The buyer preffered that he pick up the item since he lives nearby and shipping is not necessary. What should I do with the shipping label that eBay is telling me to print? I don't want it to be on record as if I never shipped an item that was paid for.

Re: Shipping

If it were me, I would ask the buyer to agree to cancel the listing.

You would check off buyer requested.  No defect and you would get your fees back.  Get a credit for the label as well.

Then relist as local pickup  - cash only.

Re: Shipping

I let them pick it up and just mark it as shipped. I know that not having tracking uploaded hurts me, but it doesn't happen often enough for me to worry about. If they paid for shipping I just refund them that amount through Paypal.

Re: Shipping

You leave yourself open to being scammed. All the seller would have to do, if he's dishonest, is file an "Item Not Received" with eBay. You'll have no proof it was picked up and obviously no record of it being shipped. He'll get his money back and you'll be out the money and the item. Always make sure it's cash only on local pick up.
