Shipping to Guam

I just had a buyer from Guam that bought an item on auction, I noticed there's a pretty big difference in cost between priority, and parcel select. Is there usually a huge difference in delivery time between the 2 services? I had UPS selected for shipping and the auction said free 3 day shipping based on that but of course UPS doesn't go to Guam. But based on that I'm guessing I should just ship priority?

Re: Shipping to Guam

Not sure if you mean UPS parcel select ground but if so that would kind of explain why UPS doesn't offer that for Guam. The road across the Pacific is not done yet. What are you shipping, size and weight? I just sent some tools via priority padded flat rate envelope (postage cost $8.20) and while they were not destined for Guam, they were going to Hawaii, guess where the package was routed through on the way? 😁

You may want to check Pirate Ship. Depending on the size and weight package may be a good candidate for priority mail cubic which eBay does not offer as a shipping option.

Re: Shipping to Guam

Yes, ship it USPS Priority because if you ship it Parcel Select Slow Boat it will take a long time to arrive and the buyer would be claiming not received before it got there.

Re: Shipping to Guam

That's what I was thinking too, I have had some stuff go to Puerto Rico parcel select pretty quickly but looking at just how far Guam is away on the map I'd rather pay the extra $15-$20 and not chance it that's a long haul.

Re: Shipping to Guam

I set UPS or it was set as default for the auction and I never know how to exclude those areas when listing. UPS doesn't even come up as an option, it's just USPS priority and USPS Parcel Select. Since I didn't exclude those and I am not sure what they were told the expected arrival date were I'm just going to pay the extra for priority. It's a package about 12x12x12 and just under 7 lbs. I need to figure how to get that straight in the future.
