Shipping problem

I clearly didn't think ahead. 2 of my items sold in auction on Friday. They haven't been paid for. I'm going away for a week, leaving tomorrow. I sent an apologetic message to the buyers yesterday morning explaining that I wouldn't be able to ship after tomorrow and asked them to pay or wait a week. No response. My auctions state shipping within 2 business days. Any suggestions?

Can you pack the items and take them along?  Be sure to weigh them before you leave.  You can print a label at a library..........

First off, you should have changed your handling if you knew that you would be away for a week. It is too late now and the only suggestion I have is to take the packages with you and ship when you receive payment. If you don't ship within your 2 day handling time you will receive 2 late shipment dings from eBay on your seller account and that is not good. You will have to decide how you are going to handle this.

Don't forget that buyers want their items ASAP after paying for them. They can leave you negative feedback if they don't get their items on time or open an item not received case which is really bad for a seller. You could get 2 marks for them and it is not good for your seller account.

If you have more items listed I would go and change the handling time on them immediately as long as none of them have bids. If they have bids, be prepared to take them with you also so you can ship them.

I'm thinking of packing the item and printing a shipping label and giving it to someone to ship if I get paid. Maybe this is not an issue, but the shipping date on the label will likely not correspond with the actual shipping date. Of more concern, is that the buyer gets notified when I print the shipping label and may think it was shipped. Or am I overthinking this?

I think the label has to be printed within 3 days of mailing..........i.e. you couldn't print today and mail on Fri.  If they never pay........you can't void the label except within 24 (?) hrs.

You could print just a mailing label without the postage and give that to someone who could take it to the PO and pay there........

BUT they/you would also need to put the tracking # into the sold listing within your handling time.

I would definitely give someone you trust access to everything they need to get these packages shipped for you.

You're not overthinking this. You're underthinking it. It's your responsibility to get those packages shipped in a timely fashion.

Check your feedback rating on your selling id and your seller metrics. Can either of those afford to have unhappy buyers register their disappointment in some fashion?

That won't work. You don't know the shipping addresses until the items are paid for.
