Shipping label to Puerto Rico is printing out tiny

 I sold an item to Puerto Rico. I printed out the shipping label using my Rollo thermal printer but it is printing out tiny. I decided to screenshot it and copy and paste it into word and I was able to print out a regular sized label that way but it is extremely faded and I am worried it will not scan. Does anyone have any tips of how to make it a regular sized print on the thermal printer? Thanks.

I have the same exact printer and for some reason every time someone from Puerto Rico buys from myself or my husband ebay won't let it print label at all. Called ebay and said nothing we can do. We have to write label out by hand and go to post office to pay there and mail. All US mail labels print absolutely fine. It says it is an international label so I can't print it. Makes no sense whatsoever. I guess I rather have a tiny label than no label at all. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

If you don't mind explaining.  What happens when you try.  Do you remember what the screen says.

For YEARS ebay has had Puerto Rico coded or something incorrectly in the shipping system.  It isn't treated as part of the US completely.  For me when I am preparing the label, in the beginning it acts as if I'm doing an international label, which of course is incorrect, but when I actually get to the place to print the label it is fine and it is not an international label.

Try printing the label to PDF, and then manipulate it separately as needed.

International shipping labels are slightly bigger than domestic because required info needs to be shown for Int'l label that are not required on domestic labels.

I would look at your printer settings when you have to print n Int'l label.  Maybe you have a force resize function auto set that you can disable for this label then reset it after you are done?

Another option would be to print the Int'l label on a regular printer cut it out and tape it to your package?

For me, while the screens in the Ebay shipping program present like Puerto Rico should be an international shipment, when it gets to the print label screen it does NOT present as an international label does.  It looks like a normal US shipment label as it should.

It was on my husband's account it just happened a few weeks ago. It said something like it is an international sale and label can not be printed. I wish I had taken a screen shot of it. We had always just hand written our labels and went to post office until postage went up again we decided to buy a rollo thermo label printer. Its great and we get the shipping discount. But for some reason the last two purchases from Puerto Rico, ebay treated it as an international sale and he couldn't print it. Since I have only been printing online postage the past few months I thought possibly we were doing something wrong?
Also, I have had an error on a couple US sales when trying to print label. Says it can not exceed 40 characters and the address in the box was clearly no where near 40 characters. I ended up having to go to post office and pay a $1-2 more on shipping because ebay wouldn't let me print label. Happened again yesterday so I called ebay and they couldn't figure out problem. I tried putting the address in the next box down and then the actually address box kept saying the same thing even tho there was nothing typed in it, "invalid address cannot exceed 40 characters". The customer service rep ended up taking address out and said to print label then write address on it. I don't understand, it must be some kind of glitch. Have you seen that before?

I have been selling on here for about 2 years, my husband been on here much longer than I but I help run his store since he works full time outside of ebay. This is my full time job now, I have my own store, run his and also sell on couple other venues. So I come here frequently and read and have learned a lot, then keep my husband updated lol

I've had those addresses that are too long as well.  What I do is edit the ship to address.  I move part of what is stated on the address line to the 2nd line of the address.  It reads the same as it did to begin with, it is just that it extends to the send line of the address.  That has always worked for me.

Oh I think once the city name was too long.  But logical abbreviations took care of that as well.

Thank you so much, I was thinking that would be the fix. I think on the most recent one the name was too long, it was 5 names, so even though the address line was only 13 characters I think the name was the problem. I will do that next time. I just was worried if I changed anything it would effect how it would print out or ebay was read it as I was changing the address all together and voiding the only seller protection we have for the most part. It always warns if you change the address you won't be protected. Anyways, thanks again. Calling customer service doesn't help always with some issues, either they don't know the answer or you get different answers depending on what rep you talk to.
