Shipping Trading Cards with the new Tracking option ($20 and under)

Hello

So eBay just rolled out the new cheaper rate shipping option for trading cards $20 and under.  This is our sweet spot for our customers. We have started using this new option a couple of days ago, but I have not seen any of the tracking numbers scanned in at the post office. I assume this is much different then our typical first class package. I just don't want to continue down this road if we might have potential problems forthcoming.

Here is the link to ebays new shipping for cards :

Any insight would help

Thanks

Re: Shipping Trading Cards with the new Tracking option ($20 and under)

This shipping option uses the USPS Informed Delivery tracking which prints a bar code above the address. This is a machine scanning only bar code. Ebay assigns a separate tracking number which prints within the return address on the label. That is the number that you will see on your order shipped page. Neither the counter person nor the carrier can scan this barcode. Wait 24 hours after you have dropped it off and you can go into your order page, click on the tracking number and it should show it was scanned at your local sorting center. The last scan you will be able to see is when it arrives at the recipients local post office. Not sure how ebay is going to handle proof of delivery.

Re: Shipping Trading Cards with the new Tracking option ($20 and under)

Does eBay labels print labels that fit a standard size envelope (4.5" x 9.5")?  If so, I have just 1 printer and wonder where I can find 9" x 11" sheets containing this small sized label that could be used on a regular printer that is mainly used to print invoices, and how many labels are on this sheet?  Currently I hand-write addresses, which is slow and subject to error.

If I need to purchase a printer just for labels, I'm wondering how to have eBay labels use the correct printer.   I also need to know what printer would handle these smaller sized labels.  And if I need to switch back to my other printer to print larger labels for regular packages, how is this done?

Hi

Yes - the labels do fit 4x6 ( I use a Zebra ZP450 Printer ) Its expensive but so worth it. We do not have time to hand write anything at all. . the labels if you use UPS you get them for free if not you can purchase them online or at staples.. 4x6 continuous roll of 300 per roll.

From what I understand it is only for shipping sports cards. If items are listed in another category such as stamps or post cards it won’t give you the option to print the cheaper labels.

Does this printer only work for UPS?  It requires the UPS driver and says it only works with the UPS app.  Will it print eBay labels for the USPS as well?

Any luck any of your items being updated via eBay tracking yet? We have sold quite a few, and its picking up as days go on with the new price for shipping. The first card we sent says delivered, however, the person messaged us saying it wasn't.

We have sold and shipped about 6 others, 1 is showing out for delivery today, the rest have yet to be scanned anywhere. Makes me worried to continue to offer this as well.

Let me know!

Best

Re: Shipping Trading Cards with the new Tracking option ($20 and under)

And I sell lots of coins which I have to write the envelopes by hand with a postage stamp.  I inquired about this new shipping program, whether or not the coins, stamps and bullion sellers could become involved in this.  To date, eBay has just ignored my numerous inquiries.  They would not even get back to me.....

According to eBay's help page about this, the service is currently limited to trading cards but they plan to add more categories.

Re: Shipping Trading Cards with the new Tracking option ($20 and under)

I shipped several Friday, one is showing out for delivery, the others in transit.  I went to print 2 more today and there is a glitch in the system, error message saying unable to print.  Called ebay and they told me to print for first class package rate and they would credit me the difference.

I am getting the same error today as well.  Support has no idea what they are doing.  They are telling me to use a different browser, change the date, use paypal or go to the post office.  They are clueless.

Re: Shipping Trading Cards with the new Tracking option ($20 and under)

How do you get it to print on an envelope.

I am using an HP Officejet 4650.

The envelopes are loaded in the paper tray vertical and the label prints horizontal , it does not print correctly on the envelope
