I used the shipping supplies coupon and noticed they charged my paypal account for the full price of the boxes. I checked paypal and it is a charge of $54.48. What gives? Do they credit your eBay invoice for the $50?

If you look at your screen shot, it shows the coupon was using as a funding source. So only $4.48 actually came out of your pocket-PayPal balance. The rest came from the coupon. You paid the seller the full amount via PayPal and PayPal funded it in part with your coupon and your PP balance.

Your screen shot clearly shows that two funding sources were used:
Obviously, PayPal also shows the total price you paid so you have it for your records.

I’m not sure what you are saying? You did pay $54.48
$50 came from the cohpon
$4.48 came from your PP balance
you sent the seller a total payment of $54.48 which is why the PP transaction shows $54.48
You were only charged $4.48
paypal always shows the total amount of the purchase not the total amount out of your pocket.

Yes, you are. Can't you see the bottom of your own screen shot, where it says "Funding details"?
Yes, I did see that and I saw the debit for $54.48 from my paypal account with no credit for the $50 coupon on the paypal account. Just the $54.48 taken out of my account.

You paid the entire amount, so it shows that you paid $54.48 for the boxes. You have to look at the funding type and source to see where the payment came from.
This shows you that only $4.48 was taken out of your PayPal account. The rest of the payment came from the $50 coupon.

Wow, you are paying for boxes for shipping? If you go to the post office or open an account on the USPS web page, you can get boxes to ship from them for free. I use the flat rate boxes only as I will then know exactly how much the shipping cost will be, since the calculated rate on eBay is NEVER right. Hope this helps!

Calculated USPS rate on Ebay is ALWAYS right IF you enter your weights and dimensions properly.

Those free usps boxes don't work well for 1st Class, and are not to be used for FedEx, and UPS
