Going to work on organizing a work space for my eBay sales. Would appreciate input on what other sellers have done or have found to work for them regarding designating a room or area in their homes for this purpose. Photos welcome!

I took over the living room to give my granddaugher the extra bedroom I was using. Now I"m trying to get my husband to give me the dining room too.
Before I answer-let me say There is never enough space and never enough shelf space.
I have:
Four large Bookcases and items are numbered with the bookcase number and shelf number
I have four small tables
two rolling carts
a coffee table that I raised to house boxes under it
a big rattan three shelf unit to hold purses
and boxes and boxes of shoes all along the dining room wall
Plus more stuff on the dining room table.

Too bad hubby refused to ask the neighbor for the dresser but mine would have too. It would have been me pulling and tugging it up the driveway in my pajamas...
If your computer and printer work for listing and printing your labels, I would not invest in new ones just yet. I stretched my old printer until it died printing its last label. Best to buy just before school starts again when all that kind of stuff is on sale...
What are you using for poly bags? Are you wrapping your items in tissue? What is the reason for the packing slip? To me, only an opinion...wasted ink and paper.
All the best to you! Sonia
LOL Believe me, I wanted to, but was opening teller that day and couldn't be late for work! I tried reasoning, pouting, promising to start cooking again, and zilch, zero, nada. Hopefully someone else who needs it more got it.
Unfortunately, my computer is a 15 year old relic and slower than molasses in January. It constantly freezes, frequently crashes, and consistently makes me want to scream in frustration. Printer is inkjet bought 12 years ago. Still works, just slow and cartridges are expensive and hard to find for sale individually. Plus, I feel compelled to cover the labels with clear packing tape so the ink won't run and become illegible if exposed to moisture. Didn't know packaging slips were optional, so THANK YOU! Definitely a waste of paper and ink.
I ordered a supply of 2 sizes of self seal poly bags (100 each), 200 sheets of acid free tissue paper and packing tape. So far, I've only sold 5 dresses and have carefully folded them with tissue between folds, slipped them into a poly bag, and have been able to fit them into a priority mail flat rate padded envelope. I do have a supply of both the flat rate padded and the legal size (poster board thickness) cardboard envelopes I ordered from USPS for free, of course. figured I can use for larger garments and pad by slipping in bubble wrap.
However, if I want to sell anything else, I've got to set and follow through on some listing goals, and I've got to stop spending so much time on these boards!😄

Packing slips may be optional, but I always tape one to the item shipped.
Buyer knows exactly what it is and where it came from. If for any strange reason the item gets out of the package on the way USPS knows what it is and where it should go/be returned to.
I reduce the shipping label size to 82% (size with my set up, your mileage may vary), and do a packing slip at 68%.
I get the label, my shipping receipt showing to/from ship service/tracking # and cost + the packing slip from one 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper. (sometimes recycled sheets that were only printed on one side) Seems silly at times as I often get a pack of 500 sheets under $2, but recycle sheets are free. Laser printer with a toner cart that I can refill.

I'm impressed w/ your pictures! Especially like the bubble wrap on the rod.
I wouldn't dare post a picture of my ebay room though. Ya'll would say I needed an emergency family intervention.
Don't be too impressed. Pics are cropped to hide stuff. There is a reason for this being done in the cellar/garage. Wife would not allow this in the general living area. As long as she only has to walk by it on the way to do laundry, or get out of the garage it passes.

Had to ( reluctantly) send the wife and kids to the MIL to make room.
I let the dog stay, never saw the cat again with all those boxes laying about.
That photo is depressing. What a serious waste of air space. It criminal.

The boards are addictive. I get off of them for several months at a time, and then hop back on for a couple of months. I should be getting off them soon, as I have some house content deals that I'm looking to do, and I tend to get hyper-focused on those. I'm like a little kid preparing for a treasure hunt. You never know what you'll find, in an old house that's been packed up, and shut up for years.

The thing is to keep everything together as much as possible. I wouldn't want people coming into my home and seeing a mail order business being run out of it. Who wants to be married to online sales 24/7 as they walk from room to room in their home. I know people that do this, and it looks like they live in one of my storage rooms.

So true! In my dreams the ideal house would have a walk-out basement with area for a workstation, shelving for all the books, area for incoming books, and mailing supplies. All on the same level as the car, all collected in one place away from living space. We won't be moving any decade soon so I am working on getting a better grip on things, a primary goal being to purge the family room from boxes of incoming books.
My house is almost set up like that. It's kinda weird. My garages are half way between the basement and the 1st fl of the house. The have a huge 6 foot wide stairwell with about five removable steps into my basement, and the same going into the house. I have a few entrances into the basement which makes it a more convenient space for me.
For many years I had my workstation on the 2nd floor and once I began to have stiff knees it was a strain to carry 25-lb boxes of books up and down the stairs all the time. My husband encouraged me to use the computer in the first floor dining room so here I am with PC and piles and boxes of books to list. I had the dining room table loaded with boxes of auction items but as a gesture of "I'm trying to get a grip" I found room for the stuff in the basement where I have my inventory and mailroom. At least it's cool there on hot summer days.

It's all over the house, in boxes, on shelves, in the hutch. Half my bedroom is ebay junk. It is uncontainable.

Yes, very much so. Got to limit time I'm spending here. Keep us posted on what your treasure hunt uncovers. Lots of good stuff you can sell, I hope!
