Seriously, eBay? Click for full item description--for the MILLENNIAL generation?

Seriously--what upper level management corporate drone thought this was a good idea? I have enough problems with the laziest, most superficial, and spoiled generation I have ever come across. A generation so entitled and disconnected from reality that they legitimately feel that an item isn't as described if it doesn't fit them perfectly, or if it just doesn't meet their standard of what they could get at the mall--back when mommy and daddy used to buy them stuff.  Now they just have to say that they were too lazy to click an extra button, and ta-da, SNAD.

If I have to read one more time in my messages......"I just recieved my item and I am disappointed because it is........___________" Fill in the blank with something like: not new, doesn't fit, is the wrong color, doesn't look good on me.......I always know it is a millennial because they make sure to tell me that they are "disappointed."  Yeah, like I'm not disappointed too--get used to it, kid! Boo-freakin-hoo, your used shoes that you paid 1/20th of the retail price for (that were literally worn one time, and advertised as such) aren't new? I have had more than one message recently that basically said, "I know the shoes were described accurately, but I was hoping that they were new, I am just really trying to get used to settling for less, but it isn't easy because I don't have a great job, I have student loans, and I just really wanted a new pair of shoes." **bleep**? Seriously? They were hoping for a miracle and didn't get it, and I am responsible?

I have had it--I am going to change my username--for the store I sell clothing and shoes on to: Millennialsnotwantedheregoawaydontbuyfromme. Or maybe I will just start selling used and smelly shoes and "other things" to the perverts--what the heck.  It would be a welcome change to get a SNAD for "Not smelly enough" instead of one for "Waah, you didn't fufill my unrealistic expectations like my mommy does."

So thanks eBay, for once again infringing upon the transparancy that I try so hard, as useless as it is sometimes, to have with my buyers. Once again--you are taking the money right out of my pocket.

Hint ....  it's all because of a search engine making demands on websites.

Maybe instead of saying insulting things about buyers you should keep up with the announcements.

Here is one of the more recent:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/UPDATED-Stronger-Browser-Security-Standards-Ahead/ba-p/2...

eBay has been posting information on this for months. Search this board for many threads on what you need to do to avoid the "see description" link.

Have to agree with OP...https or not...why wouldn't a milly click "see description"?
I'm no social scientist, but I have a theory...they can't focus. They were brought up on TV commercials that flash images for a nanosecond...I suppose that's cool. Cool cannot pass for info (description) these days, but it apparently does...all that matters is the headline.
Even with clear pictures and an unambiguous full description, I've had dumb questions.
ebay should flash a checkbox whenever a bid or BIN is placed....
"I have READ the description of this item and agree to the accuracy of same."
Maybe that would cut down on wah-wah returns.

eBay has 2 options....

They can pull the listing and make you completly redo it.

OR

They can put the "see description" link and still at least have the item up for sale.

Personally....

I was hoping that eBay was gonna pull em so I wouldn't have to weed through and see which ones were still messed up, and it would give me an incentive to get started on pulling all of em and fixing them.   With the "see description" button I'm back to lazy and waiting on eBay to fix the "ASQ" section.

PS since lots of them buy on their phones they are already used to clicking a button to see full description.

I hate photobucket right now... PS Answers given years ago may or may not be current now, please check with current posters to the boards to see if the information is still relevant.

I think you are confusing Millenials with a later generation there are Millenials nearly 40 years old and are nothing like you describe and some are already grandparents.

I tend to agree with the OP about the see item link.

Here is a prime example of how bad some of the buyers ebay has lured to the site are....I sold an item last night, ten minutes later I get a request to cancel because they ordered the wrong size - uh, there is only one size and it's in the title AND item specifics AND the measurements are in the listing that totals 50 or less words.

But I sell on another site that specializes in millenial wants and desires and they aren't so bad there.  It is ebay and the redumbdant changes they make.

I don't know how anyone tells  what age a buyer is........

Every big website I go on has "see more information" so I've never been sure why people have objected to that....

And agree with other posters, sellers have a means of avoiding the "see more" dreaded page.......

Yes, I see the "see more information" on lots of websites I go to but they don't open up into a totally dumb looking page like these on Ebay do. Sometimes the information is all run together, sometimes it is spread out all over my 23" monitor but it is only 2 sentences. When you look at the new page that opens you don't know who the seller is, what the shipping is, where the seller is shipping from because it is a plain white rice stupid looking page.

And it was showing up on pages that had already been checked as being OK. My completed listings, which were verified OK by that i-ways thingy when they were active listings suddenly show up with the See Item page button on the completed listings. That tells me that Ebay added something to the closed listings that triggered the button.

It's nothing to with any listing being "messed up". It's ID based.

One of my IDs has the see FD button, the rest don't.....and they ALL have exactly the same somponents/structure in the listings. NO active content, NO links, NO "bad html", NO borders - nothing. ALL the SAME.

Yet one ID has to put up with having the store listing frame vanish and this pathetic see full description button.

I'd suggest asking shipscript on the special board he has about the other id problem on see description....

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Replacing-Active-Content/bd-p/activecontent

On the listing frame.....mine became "unchecked" recently and I went in and rechecked and, tho it took a couple of hrs, the frame came back.....  Trinton said somewhere if that does work CS can push a button (or something) to reinstate it......so may need to call them......

Shouldn't happen but it does........perhaps one of those will work for you......

Unless they are looking up every single person on facebook assuming they have a facebook and it's the same exact person and not a common name with 100 people or more with the same first and last name, so essentially it's impossible for them to look up every single person and say for sure, I could just as easily argue it's always 70+ year olds complaining.

That, and how they can come here and say millennials are great on the other site just not on the Ebay site. Some have a crazy outlook when it comes to online selling and maybe a better option is to go where all the good buyers go and stay away from the dumb millennial buyers here.

This is all on Google due to their attempts to be the "gatekeeper" of all things Internet and their assumption that their spy on you and follow you everywhere browser is eventually going to be the only one around.

Until other search engines get their shopping searches up to speed (DuckDuckGo has such a feature now) and let the masses know they exist, then this nonsense with decrees from on high by the Great and Almighty Google will be here to stay.

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.
