Seems like the Algorithms for placement in Best match have changed recently (September?for visibility on all eBay items, Arts/Collectibles/Antiques/Vintage items almost always take longer to sell, one of kinds need one of a kind buyers and take longer to sell at retail, can someone tell me how it's changed at eBay i know somethings changed and affecting the value of these type items, can someone at eBay tell me Please the time frame the changes have made to items being sold in the BIN format eBay expects these items to sell in? it seems they should reconsider the change for these type items, Arts/Collectibles/Antiques/Vintage items,i see quite a few sellers of these items with drastic drops in sales in these threads (see marked for extinction)extinction thread) maybe some fine tuning of the Algorithms in these type items would be in order, maybe look into it and fix? (no smartie replys please)

Ebay has never explained anything about algorithms, so any answers are going to be guesses.........

It is my opinion that sell through rate has become king at ebay and most sellers of OOAK have slow sell through rates.
My example is a seller that sells in my category that only sells auctions starting at 99cents. He sells everything so has a 100% sell through and he just dominates Best Match placement.
I used to have about 30 items always in the first 500 BM places. These days, I am lucky to have 1. I have a very low sell through, all my items are GTC and long tail.
So, that’s my theory.

My opinion is it has been for quite some time; a long time. All these free returns, TRS+, other baloney programs are designed to make money for ebay.
Not saying "make money for ebay" is the wrong thing for ebay to do. If I make money, ebay makes money. But I have always made money even though I didn't eat the baloney chase the carrot.
This is becoming more difficult - the making money part - but offering free returns isn't going to help; it's just going to take a bite of my net.
