If a customer complains of damaged item or that item never received after going to eBay Authenticator what happens next? Am I liable or is eBay?

I have noticed you have asked a number of questions as a new seller - you may get more relevant assistance by posting questions in your field, especially on the authentication side of trading cards, good luck with it all.

I am assuming this along with several of the other questions you posted all relate to the $5K card you sold? You may want to read through the following with regard to how the authentication centers work.

INR's are generally found in favor of the seller as long as tracking information shows the item being delivered. You also have a signature requirement for the $5K item. Damaged items would be another issue and would probably neither be your or the authentication centers problem but would be your responsibility to deal with in working a claim with the carrier.

Also keep in mind that these are eBay's policies and most mean little if the buyer opens a CC chargeback.

Just posting to emphasize comments from the two previous posters.

You registered the account with which you're posting on November 25, 2022. In the last couple of weeks, you've posted questions to the Community that ask about very basic selling policies and procedures. That's great--it's what the Community is all about; however, it should not be considered a substitute for reading eBay's help pages and researching issues in advance of listing very expensive items.

eBay's seller school may be a good way to learn about running your business before you get yourself into a bind.

As well as reading everything you can find on eBay's website.

You are walking a tightrope listing items and not paying attention until one sells then come on here and ask questions to each and every step you need to make to carry out the transaction.

Its like driving in the dark without headlights and having people walk out in front of you to watch ahead.

I'm not saying this to cause offense, but you stand to lose a lot of money selling the way you have on this single transaction.

I didn't see anything wrong with your post. The truth hurts sometimes.
