Hello While doing some research I came across something that I am bidding on on an auction site and so far I am the only bidder and my highest bid so far is $ 10.00. I was surprised that someone already has the items for sale on eBay and is asking for $ 14,000. How is it possible?

We occasionally get requests from buyers that we do not include an invoice or any other info in the package.

One reason for this is that they are resellers. They list our product on a site for a crazy price. If it sells, they buy from us and have us ship direct to their buyer (eBay allows users to change their address).

Unfortunately, this works. That eBay competitor has many sellers doing this. Some buyers assume something is rare because the ad says it is. They buy on impulse, paying the crazy high price. And their seller pockets a wad of cash for doing very little.

Just to clear the air here because some seem confused and thinking the government auction is also here but it isn't the way I am reading it. The op is high bidder at a government auction site (not ebay) but someone also is trying to sell that lot here before the other auction end at the other site.

Some of my inventory comes from a government/state auction sites. What is nice is when you buy a big lot from them and end up selling a small handful off that pallet back to a different branch that pays off the whole lot. The different branches are supposed to have first hand chances at getting any extra surplus before it hits the auction site but it seems that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and have to buy it back instead.

Oh, just a heads up, I make sure I am the new owner and have the item in my possession before relisting the items here.
