Selling on ebay

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but eBay fees have gotten out of hand. Now they want us to pay even more to “promote”? Greed at its finest. You’re already getting a cut, how about being a smart business and promote for free? It’s no extra cost to you and results in more sales. My biggest reason for being on eBay is because I’m a sports card collector. Facebook has taken a lot of eBay’s business and for good reason.

Re: Selling on ebay

I think you misunderstand.  There has NOT been any increase to the fees on Promoted Listings in a long time.  Besides, sellers are the ones that CHOOSE what FVF they are WILLING to pay in addition to regular FVFs if the item sells.  The minimum additional fee if you choose to use Promoted listings is 2%.  So if we want to give a "sermon", it is best to have the rules correct.

I just found out if we sell international we have to pay about 2 % more. They  do take all the cream out.

It is 1.65% on top of the regular fees.  While you may have just found this out, it is a fee we have paid for many years.  And not just since Managed Payments.  It was the same type of fee when PayPal was our money processor.  So this isn't something new.
