Selling limits

I called eBay customer service to raise limits on my selling. Everything was fine until they told me the reason I'm not eligible. They asked me what state I live in. And what county. I live in Ohio and In stark county. As soon as I said stark county they told me I'm not eligible based on those 2 questions because it doesn't match public record? They verified my address with me. On my eBay account it specifically says what city I'm shipping from. They told me in 30 days I can try again. They have in their system where I live. Im not sure on what's the confusion about public record.

Re: Selling limits

This account only a month old, and you only have 1 feedback as a seller. I don't know why eBay would ask you what county you live in, but do know until your feedback score gets higher, eBay will not raise your selling limits. Good Luck to you and Welcome to eBay.

Re: Selling limits

Do you have written permission from Nike to use their logo?

Forget keeping up with the Joneses. Be the Finklegrubers!
OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

@crockshop

eBay raises limits based on your establishing a history of solid successful transactions.  With only one, they cannot sufficiently see your character and integrity as a seller.  If you perform with integrity, know and understand ebay policies, rules, and procedures,  list items with accurate and honest descriptions,  ship promptly according to your processing days stated, respond promptly and professionally to buyer's messages, and your buyers are satisfied, you will accumulate successful sales and good feedback and be in a better position to request your limits be raised.

That may sound intimidating and daunting but many new sellers don't know that they are expected to answer messages, ship within the processing time they stated (if listing says you will ship in three days, you ship in three days.)  or that they are not allowed to ask for more money for item or shipping post sale.  Accurate and honest descriptions that list any and all damage are important so the buyer knows just what they are buying.  It also helps prevent an unhappy buyer.  These are just some of the expectations.

EBay limits both new seller and new buyers so neither gets in over their head and is unable or unwilling to complete their transactions.

Sorry but one selling transaction really doesn't show how you will perform and continue to perform as a seller, but as times goes by, and you list more sales, your limits will raise.

Good Luck!  Best of success to you.

Just want to add...packing and shipping is very important; if you don't pack well, buyers will get damaged items.  This can have negative consequences for you.  Also important to use the correct shipping address.

I don't know why they would ask those questions.  Maybe someone else will come along with experience with this.  I have heard of questions like that asked for verification, but with other companies.  Most likely it was because of your only having one sale.

Based on public record, maybe they verified your address somehow and it didn't match what you told them?

You could call and ask for a supervisor to explain, but since you are so new, I would leave it alone and just try to get your limits raised when you have more sales under your belt.  You don't want to be calling them unnecessarily and possibly be marked as problematic.
