Selling items over $750 internationally... is it safe?

Just wondering is it safe to sell items over $750  from the US internationally? Is there any way to get a signature confirmation with any form of international shipping?

It comes down to personal preference. I wouldn't do it personally because shipping and tracking for international shipping isn't as good as domestic. I have had too many problems in the past with eBay's Global shipping Program so I opted out of that. If an international buyer wants something bad enough they will use a shipping forwarding company of their choice. You are better off letting the buyer use their own shipping forwarder because then they have less of a leg to stand on when it comes to fraud in my opinion.

This is an option with some FedEx and DHL services. With FedEx it's an add on that costs extra, with DHL I believe it's built into the shipping cost for every package.

I don't think selling international is any more crazy than selling domestic. They're selling clothing and shoes so it's a matter of whether or not they're willing to pay return shipping costs if an international buyer files a SNAD return.

The questionable part in my opinion comes with selling items at that price point on eBay to ANY location - international or domestic. I wouldn't do it.

I think what the OP should be most concerned about in selling their items internationally - no matter what price point - is that they have a lot of products like Nike which heavily enforces their rights through VeRO. Products get released in different countries at different times or may be exclusive to certain countries and Nike doesn't like to see you sell something to a location where they haven't released the product yet.

Anything over a certain $ amount, $1000 and up, I send internationally via GSP.  Your worry, basically, is to get it to Kentucky (altho buyer can still claim SNAD).   I've never had problems with GSP, but those sales are infrequent.

I recently shipped a $1,600 pair of items to China NOT via GSP, but using PM Express International, insured.  I had no problems.

I have gotten screwed on INAD cases through GSP. They wouldn't honor their protection saying it was my fault the buyer claimed the item was defective. I was told to either provide a return label or refund the item at my cost. I don't know how to do international shipping so I obviously had to eat the loss costing me hundreds of dollars.
