I just received my first direct to bank payment and noticed that eBay charged me fees that included the shipping charges. My net proceeds were $79 on an item that cost me $85 to ship. **bleep** eBay? I just lost money and the item I sold. This is **bleep**, you shouldn’t be collecting fees on costs that we sellers have to pay.

Yes. Corporations are very good at coming up with solutions that put money in their pocket while taking it out of ours.

They could have come up with a solution but decided it benefitted them more to take a bigger cut.

You lost nothing. You sold the item for $79+$85=$164. If another seller sold the same item for $164 with free shipping Ebay would have charged them the same amount as you. The item is only worth $164 no matter how you look at it. What you have to do for now on is calculate the TOTAL cost. If you are not making enough profit you need to raise your prices.

Could you have used a "flat rate" USPS box to save on shipping? You need to know EVERY angle.

Final sale was for $11.00, plus shipping of $85, which was charged by Ebay's calculated shipping. Ebay's fee was around $12, so I lost a buck.

unfortunatly, no. The box was 18x24x24.

As a seller on eBay I can understand your anger because I don't know exactly how to calculate how much I should charge because they're eating up shipping costs as well as the fees However unlike Facebook that shows you how much you'll be left by the end of the fee marker unfortunately eBay does not have thisdoes not have this for some reason they should allow you to see how much you'll be paying and how much you perceive by the end of the day.

I honestly truly believe eBay charges way too much and fees this includes taking the shipping label which can be a lot of money Even doing calculated shipping on an item doesn't help because I've had the entire shipping label being eaten up by fees EBay needs to make it to where you can see how much you'll be left with before you list the items so you know how much have to charge for it.

You as the seller, need to be aware of ALL the rules you are selling under. You also have to know your stuff when it comes to shipping.
It's NOT eBay's fault because you messed up. It's yours. So, are you going to LEARN from your mistakes and do better, or are you just going to sit around pointing the finger of blame at everyone BUT yourself?
Many important steps you SHOULD have taken, were not done. Now you pay the price. Good luck with that.
I honestly don't believe defending eBay is the play they're taking way too much and fees I've had Pay almost $45 for an item and by the end of all the fees which includes the shipping Label I was left with maybe $30 they took the entire ship in label from some items even though I'm charging calculated shipping based on location EBay as a overall website charges way too much and fees that used to be reasonable. I took down the item because it wasn't worth selling it costed more and shipping than I was being able to make despite the buyer paying almost $45 per item.
