Hi I’ve listed a item and someone has clicked buy it now they’ve sent direct payment to my paypal rather then through eBay. Is this legit I’ve checked my paypal and the money is in there. The customer said he will send me the postage labels as well as it’s cheaper then I was offering he’s got over 200 feed back and as been in constant communication. On the eBay post it says payed by PayPal as well.
does all this seem legitimate and if I post the goods is there any way he can reclaim the money

No they don’t send postal labels. Did you give them your email or phone number? If so you shouldn’t have. Scam
ETA: UK Seller

Yes, buyer sends you a label, reroutes package to a different address, and files INR claim and wins. You lose your money.

OH NO!! That is a SCAM. Return their money and tell them to pay through Ebay if they still want the item. You will supply your own label to the address on their payment notification submitted through Ebay. NEVER do it any other way.

How did they get your personal name or email address?
If you were a buyer would you give up eBay AND PayPal protection by sending you a payment via friends and family where you would not get your money back if the seller refused to send the item? No, you would not. The buyer offering to pay shipping is just a carrot to dangle in front of you to make the transaction more appealing-and, thus send the item. They're probably paying with a cloned card and real cardholder report it's stolen and snatch the money back. It's very suspicious. Refund and have them use eBay checkout to pay. I doubt they will. Then you can file an unpaid dispute and relist.

Ebay provides that information once there is a sale. For sellers, just look at the order details.
