I sold a battery operated watch as untested and stated that it may not run even with a new battery. The buyer is now wanting to return the watch for a full refund because the watch isn't working...... I told him that it was indicated in the description but he doesn't care. What would you all do in this situation? Issue the return and move on?

Even if you had tested and it was working when you sent it, there's no good that can come for a seller for refusing a return. Usually the end result of that is the buyer gets a refund anyway AND keeps the item.
Issue the return and move on.

If this is about the Timex SR927, you listed it as "used" that means "fully functional", it should have been listed as "for parts only".
Accept the return and in future ensure the Condition you use is appropriate.
Definitions:
Used
An item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or store return that has been used. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.
For parts or not working
An item that does not function as intended and is not fully operational. This includes items that are defective in ways that render them difficult to use, items that require service or repair, items that are locked or can't be activated, or items missing essential components. See the seller's listing for full details.

You would issue a refund. Now that you know it can be a problem selling junk, ALWAYS make sure in your title with capital letters mention the watch is junk. Maybe i missed it, but I checked your sold listings and there is not a single title mentioning for part only.

You needed to state that it did not work and good for parts. Anytime that a buyer buys something like this and they put in a new battery, they are praying it will work. If it doesn't work, then they will return it. They do not want to take a loss. Send a return shipping label and do a refund. Relist it AS GOOD FOR PARTS and it will NOT work. Buyers do not like to gamble on ebay.

@depave-13 This platform offers a money back guarantee to all buyers. Buyer is saying it doesn't work and if they open an item not as described case (regardless of what you wrote) they will win, and you may lose both your money and the watch. Return for a full refund and move on. Best of luck to you....

I'm selling watches also, but I have been having a professional jeweler test the watch and install a new battery. I have seen others sell watches that aren't working, calling them "untested," and the odds are most of them will work with a new battery, but not all of them. I think that phrase is a little vague so if I were doing that would make it clear that the watch might not work. Some even put this in the title, saying "parts only," even though the watch probably works. In this case, yes, I think I would issue the refund and move along.

You should never sell anything without testing it. You should have put a battery in the watch to see if it works. This way you would know what you are dealing with. I suggest that you give him a refund.
Always thing what you would do in a situation. "Would you buy a watch if you didn't know if it was working?"

Okay thanks, I have always had conflicted thoughts on how to list a watch that is untested and not working.
