Hi all. I've been selling plants on eBay since 2011. Today I received an email from eBay telling me that my selling account is at risk and may even be permanently restricted from selling on eBay.
I have been a consistent top rated seller, but some 6 months ago my sales started to tumble down and my rating went down to below standard. I even tried to pay ads to boost my sales, brought down my prices and even offered a 10% discount, but it did not work. People seem to not have money these days.
So before I totally close my eBay account, is there anything that I can do to make eBay more money out of me?
(When I was doing good, specially during the pandemic, I made eBay lots of money, but I never received a thank you email from them, or any encouragement sort of, "hey, you're doing really great, we are giving you a free $10 to use for eBay ads to promote your items").

Thank you so much. Now that I know that cancelling order is a big thing, then I won't do that anymore. God bless!

No sir, the defects are cancelled orders because they're out of stock. The actual plant that was ordered which was shown on the photos was sold on my other stores (I sell on various platforms), so what I do is simply to cancel the order. I did not know that cancelling an order because it's out of stock is an account killer.
If plants die during transit at no fault of my own, I do send a replacement, however this is extremely rare, thank God!
I do both, I grow my own varieties from my seedstock and I also import from Thailand.
Thank you for your input and God bless.

Good for you for learning, and correcting the deficiencies. Many people are not aware of how damaging cancellations are to their account. You will be able to move past this easily since you know not to cancel any more.

I'm not sure how eBay feels about your direct contact on your banner. Hopefully some members can tell you their thoughts.

Ebay stop our sales when they cite that our account is at risk.
Think about it. If they are telling us that our account is at risk, hence our sales drop, then it is ebay who are doing this.
I would say that this contravenes many UK and other countries laws. It goes against any free market economics even.
Ebay actively stop our sales when they, like big brother, feel we have cancelled too many orders.
Less money for them you see.
Their reasoning is warped, in that they would better rely on true free market economics, hence trusting the buyer, and the seller.
I wonder why they don't barr those sellers who scam us. It's a mystery.
You'd be better selling on another platform, if there is one.
People power can boost any other platform. Failing that sell via Facebook, advertising your own web page.
Christ is not with ebay protocol.
Christ be with us, in our failed attempts to make a living at the hands of mercinaries.
