Hi all. I've been selling plants on eBay since 2011. Today I received an email from eBay telling me that my selling account is at risk and may even be permanently restricted from selling on eBay.
I have been a consistent top rated seller, but some 6 months ago my sales started to tumble down and my rating went down to below standard. I even tried to pay ads to boost my sales, brought down my prices and even offered a 10% discount, but it did not work. People seem to not have money these days.
So before I totally close my eBay account, is there anything that I can do to make eBay more money out of me?
(When I was doing good, specially during the pandemic, I made eBay lots of money, but I never received a thank you email from them, or any encouragement sort of, "hey, you're doing really great, we are giving you a free $10 to use for eBay ads to promote your items").

Those 4 defects are account killers. Usually for out of stock order cancellations or cases closed without seller resolution.
Looks like you might climb out of it later in September or October. That probably means that a couple of defects from last year might be ready to fall off the record.
Hang in there and don't make any more mistakes.
Good luck.

Close that one and open another, scam bay don't care about feedback anymore. Lots of scammers with perfect feedback here.

Having fewer sales is not your problem for being below standard.
Your problem is the transaction defect rate.
I'm guessing they are for cancelling sales because you were out of stock. If you keep cancelling sales, you are likely to lose your account.
Good luck.

Always give a refund before eBay gets involved.
Mail everything on time...change the time you mail items longer.

If you don't cancel any orders or screw up any you will be Above Standard by Sept 20.
That is good enough

Are you suggesting that the OP close his current account and open another one since eBay might close out his current one?

Your suggestion is a good way to get all of one's accounts suspended.
Although ebay allows members to have more than one account, they don't allow use of a different account as a way to circumvent restrictions on another account.
Not allowed
Registering new accounts or using other existing accounts to avoid buying and selling restrictions or limits or other policy consequences.

Thank you for your input, I did ship earlier than what was expected, unfortunately there was one item that I failed to ship online because I was sick at that time.

Thank you for your input, yes, I haven't cancelled an order for months now. If in case my item was sold on my other stores, I simply send a better specimen, of course I ask the buyer first.

As others have pointed out, the issue is not how much money you are making for eBay. Many sellers make far less than you do for eBay. It is your defect rate. Try to avoid those and you will be fine.

Thank you, I'll try doing that!

That looks like a nice business if it's selling those same types of 24 items over and over, so just be more careful and make no mistakes as others have said.
If the defects are because the plants died in the mail or something, I hate to say it but just refund. Can't you just grow more? Or are you buying them wholesale and marking up?
Either way, good luck. Interesting and nice items.

Thanks for your input. I was ignorant that cancelling order is a big factor. Had I known earlier I would just have shipped bigger sizes than what was ordered.

It looks like it is definitely your out of stock defect that is bringing you down. You are over both sales numbers for it to be that and your tracking and cases seem okay. My advice? Keep an eye on your inventory!! If something is out of stock, take it to zero available and don't wait for a sale to come in to figure it out that you don't have one. Someone here telling you to cancel the order and say there is a problem with the address is terrible advice. It's not the customer's fault. It is your responsibility to post items that are actually in your possession to ship, assuming you aren't dropshipping them. Even then you are responsible though. Don't close your account and open another either. That is against ebay policy and will definitely get you kicked out.
Stay on top of your inventory, ship on time and you should bounce back in a few months. Good luck to you.
