Selling a very high ticket item to a 1st time buyer with (0) buyes or sells.

Now in 2022 are there any concerns about this? Are there any suggestions as to what a seller can do when selling high ticket items? What can a seller do to avoid a scam? I'm new and have a $1,000 purchase and I'm worried due to the buyer being New to Ebay and I'm his 1st purchase. IDK I'm so worried.? it's for a Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar sealed pack.

There are always concerns about getting scammed. You should be worried, not because your buyer is new to eBay as everyone has to start with zero, but because you have very little selling experience, haven't sold much for over a year, and are listing very high priced items. That makes you a target for scammers.

There is nothing a seller can do to avoid a scammer, but you can minimize exposure. For starters stop selling high priced items until you build up much more experience as a seller. Scammers tend to look for newbie sellers and/or folks who haven't sold in a long time. They presume that your inexperience makes you gullible or the need for quick money makes you hungry enough to fall for their scams.

You've made your sale so you need to follow through on it, but you should seriously consider pulling your other high dollar items for now. Sell small items first and build up your feedback as a seller. Best of luck to you....

You can edit with the settings who can buy the items from your store by allowing older customers and make sure to ship the item with a trackable shipping carrier. + fast shipping. Dont worry ebay has a seller protection also. ðŸ˜…

#1 rule if you can’t afford to give it away, don’t sell it online.

You have already sold this so make sure you get insurance and signature confirmation.

Fingers crossed you don’t get scammed out of the item and your $.

Good luck!

There are no settings available to do what you describe, and there is very little seller protection other than tracking and insurance and this does not protect a seller agaiinst fraudulent INAD cases.

Please learn more about eBay before you give bad advice again

Has the buyer actually committed to the purchase yet ? I see no HV item in your recent solds.

"GSA *UNKNOWN* CARSON CITY MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR INSIDE UNOPENED BOX *VERY RARE*"

It is really not a good idea to sell something whose content you have not verified. All a scammer has to say is the box came empty. You can't prove otherwise. I suggest you open the box and take a picture of the content for the listing. I don't think a seal box adds much to the value of the coin like some other collector's items.

I believe this is bad advice.

Re: Selling a very high ticket item to a 1st time buyer with (0) buyes or sells.

If you want zero worries about a possible scam the only thing to do is sell locally, a coin convention, pay an auctioneer, or sell on consignment. Everything sold on the internet has a chance of fraud, even on other internet sites. The good news is 99% of purchases go off without a problem.

You don't have a choice but to ship the item without breaking some kind of ebay rule that other people can explain better than me.

I haven't listed a valuable coin I wasn't willing to risk losing for at least five years when the metal prices finally started creeping back up.  If I had unopened GSA coins I would definitely open them to see what was inside the minute I received them.   Why do you think all the CC Morgans listed are graded?

You are setting yourself up for a INAD case because you can't prove what is inside a box you never checked, right?  And what if it's the holy grail of CC Morgans?  Then you will have left thousands on the table; possibly $100K if the grade was high enough.

What can a seller do to avoid a scam?

Build a very large cash reserve before selling; rather, risking uncirculated Morgan Silver Dollars which is a currency vs, a hard good.
