Hello all,
I am not a business seller. I am selling a wedding dress and received a message from a buyer who asked if I would ship the item to the Netherlands. They also bid half the asking price. I am not opposed to selling to someone abroad, however I am cautious as the buyer has no feedback. They have been a member since 2013.
I am a member of a few FB groups for second-hand wedding items and a member there posted about being scammed by a buyer. Apparently, the buyer claimed the item never arrived and opened a case with PayPal, who ruled in the buyer's favour and issued a refund. The group member ended up without her dress and without the money.
Should I be cautious? If I were to sell to this person, how can I protect myself against claims of 'not arrived', 'not as described', etc?
Thank you!

I don't get the feeling that this would end well, plus you'd be starting off on the wrong foot by accepting an offer that was half of what you were hoping to get.
I see that you're in the UK, so I can't make any suggestions on Shipping beyond the basics such as making sure that you have tracking for Delivery Confirmation.
