Selling a expensive item

I need help with the process of selling, I don’t really use eBay much but decided to sell an expensive item (jewelry) someone placed a bid but I’m checking that person has no feedback and I was wondering when the auction finishes do I ship my item right away or do I have to wait until that person payment goes through first ? Sorry for these questions but I’m really lost right now and don’t want to screw things up and send something and don’t get anything

Selling a expensive item

It Has no restrictions so anyone pretty much can bid from anywhere, I do have my bank info link to my eBay account but if I end the auction won’t it charge me 12% from the bidder price ? I had to cancel it before due to wrong price bid and had to pay 100+ because someone placed a bid of 1000 already

$6500 item with only one feedback on your ebay account. Are you aware of what can go wrong listing an expensive item like that straight off the bat? Make sure you read up on known ebay scams. Because you'll be a target of scammers.

I would cancel that bid immediately and then close the auction.

You don't know enough about selling online for this to go well.

Just the fact that you would consider shipping before payment tells us that.

Do you have a Managed Payments account? If you don't eBay cannot transfer any payment to your bank.

Did you know that as a new seller eBay will Hold your customer's payment until you can prove delivery? (not shipping , delivery) or for 21 days.

Do you know there are fees for selling on eBay, which include fees on your shipping charges and on Internet (state) Sales Taxes?

Have you restricted bidding to customers in your own country only?

Please please please end the auction immediately after cancelling all bids.

If you go through with the sale ship it insured and also ship signature required, which would be necessary for an item this amount.  Take photos and video of the item while packing and once the package has the label on it.  Make sure its padded and wrapped well so that nothing could break it.

If they complain about anything, tell them to submit a return request through ebay.    If they respond any other way keep telling them to do the return request and send the item back and after inspecting it will refund them.  If its damaged you have options.  Basically buyer sent back item not in condition it was sent to them.

Don't text or email outside of the ebay platform.  Ebay may hold your money for a month.  The full amount will be reported to the IRS, keep all paperwork.   Risky sale...

Do not give the buyer your PayPal address. If they ask for it or to text them they're trying to scam you.

Only ship to the address eBay provides. Only ship when eBay shows Awaiting Shipment.

Do you know that you shouldn't sell anything here you're not willing to lose? The buyer could claim they received an empty packet and you would be forced to refund, losing the money and the ring. Or they could open a return and send back a ring out of a bubble gum machine and you'd still be forced to refund.

Please, please reconsider selling that item here. The odds are vast that you will be scammed, alert to the possibility or not. I have been selling online for over 2 decades, with over 3400 positive feedbacks, and I would not even vaguely, for a moment, entertain the idea of selling that online.

There's not a chance that this will go well for you. Never sell anything on ebay that you can't afford to lose. You should cancel the bid and remove the item from ebay. Did you know the buyer can say "not as described" and send you an empty box back and you will have to refund their money?

Selling a expensive item

New sellers with ultra expensive items on here with no sales record are preyed on by scammers here. Not always but very very high risk. I would not start selling here with an over 6 grand item.

If you follow through with a sale on this 6 grand item you need to be sending it with signature tracking and INSURANCE, maybe even registered mail to be sure this buyer does not file a not received claim. The signature will protect you further from this claim. Still, a buyer can make a false claim as not as described, and you will be required to accept a return of this item. If that happens with a 6 grand item you must be certain this is delivered back to you in a secure manner as well. I would pay to have the buyer send it back securely with signature  AND INSURANCE as well. If PO loses the item you are OUT THE ITEM AND THE MONEY ESPECIALLY IF IT IS NOT INSURED ON THE WAY BACK. A scammer can also send back an empty box or a piece of junk and there is no way you will win a case if that happens.

"New sellers with ultra expensive items on here with no sales record are preyed on by scammers here."

The buyer can be scammed as well although has better protections to recover the funds.  Not saying that is the case here.  IMO most who can afford genuine Cartier jewelry would not be in such need of cash to sell it at the world's biggest online flea market.  .... and where is the original box?  The one pictured looks circa Kmart 1982.
