So, I am trying to sell a bitcoin miner, but not able to list it due to eBay managed payment restrictions. Does anyone know how to go around it? Or opt out from eBay payments?

I know very little about a bitcoin miner, but am certain that once you've migrated to MP you cannot opt out.

I'm not sure why you can't sell mining hardware here - it's not specifically in the restricted list, nor is it bullion - it's just hardware, and there's plenty listed here. Maybe the sellers haven't been brought into MP yet.
You can't opt out of MP and you can't get around it if you're in MP.

What specific restrictions are you referring to?

If you could explain a little how and what you are selling, that may help. From what I understand it's solving mathematical equations to be rewarded bitcoin's?

Could you post a snippet of the error message you're receiving--or however it is you're being informed that you can't list the item. That would be really helpful!

Are you talking about a physical ASIC machine?

@silverstatetreasureboxes
Miners for Dummies those not informed. LOL, the only reason I know about this is because my nephew and I were investigating and studying this a couple of weeks ago. They are physical computing machines.

@guslapins
I think I see the problem. These are listed in the main category presently closed to Managed Payments users:
Coins & Paper Money>Virtual Currency>Miners>
Managed payments users were supposed to be allowed in that category starting Jan. 25, but ebay moved the date ahead to sometime next month or March 9 (check the announcements). No telling if they will allow mining computer hardware or just coins and paper script.

@guslapins, at the moment, you are not allowed to list bitcoin miners with managed payments, because the category for virtual currency including miners, is under the main category for coins & paper money. All listings in that category are disallowed with managed payments.
eBay is currently doing a phased-in rollout to allow MP sellers to begin listing items in this category. Sellers who regularly list in this category had been exempted from MP, but are now being scheduled for MP.
MP sellers who only occasionally list in this category will be able to begin listing in this category between Feb 23 and March 9, depending on when it is rolled out to them.

Since it's just computer hardware I suspect the bots picked up on the word coin.
Rewrite the listing.

Wow, that's really annoying.
So my question is why is it saying that it will only be available for business sellers beginning February 23rd? What about us who do not have a registered LLC to open a business account with? I began filing my articles of organization (which I've been meaning to do for awhile now anyways) but then quickly realized I will also have to apply for an EIN with the IRS which could take time... So I would be looking at weeks before being able to list anything and also spending the money on the articles of organization, doesn't seem worth it to list some mining equipment. Might as well just wait if I'm going to be phased in like you guys are saying, however I don't see anything regarding a time frame for REGULAR MP sellers (not business) being able to sell this equipment.

It's April 2nd and I'm still restricted from listing. Any updates that you've heard?
