Selling PrePackaged Cereal on Ebay

In searching unusual items sold on ebay I cam across many ads for popular common cereals, cake mixes and other similar items.  What is the logic in ordering online and paying 3 times the cost. Readily available at all grocery stores, yet it is obvious that they are selling

everything is not readily available in all grocery stories. maybe international buyers are buying them. maybe domestic buyers are homebound. you never know

Let's see.  My salad croutons came from ahem, as did the-only-flavor-I-like coffee pods.  Oh, and the finicky cat's tuna pate.

doh! i forgot about ebay bucks! you might be surprised what people buy with their ebay bucks. that could be a reason too

Some products may seem common, as they are sold in a region of several states. Then you move to another region and can't find the product anywhere, and people have no idea what it even is. (example: Moxie cola, Sun-drop, Duke's mayonnaise, etc etc). All of those are sold in several states and are quite popular in their regions, but they're not available nationwide.

But also, some people are financially capable of, and would rather pay 3 times as much to eliminate the time/hassle of grocery shopping.

Yes to items that you can only buy regionally.

We live in Rhode Island.  My daughter moved to Washington State to go to WSU for graduate studies.

She cannot find many of her favorite brands anymore.  I have to send her care packages.

I have a sister who lives in Miami Beach half year. the other half she gets weekly overnight deliveries of her favorite muffins from a cafe there. I think it bizarre craziness. she doesn't

I have relatives in Florida who are always asking me to send Del's lemonade mix or Autocrat coffee milk syrup and other food items you can only get in Rhode Island.

Same with my daughter.  When you grow up with certain brands it is hard to all of a sudden change.

I know visiting her for just a couple of weeks, I was lost without my Dunkin Donuts coffee.

My grandmother traveled to Cali to visit her sister. There she discovered Folger's coffee. She brought home several CASES of the stuff stacked in the back of my aunt's van. And then had her kin ship her coffee every few months for years before Folger's became a national brand. Folger's certainly ain't what it used to be back when I was a teenager drinking coffee with my grandma. It used to be GOOD!

Sometimes you just gotta have it!!!

Home is WA state, awesome fresh fish, moved for a couple of years to Rochester, NY.  Farmed fish was it there, after a year I was desperate for fish from home. Spent a small fortune having fresh Copper River salmon overnighted. Best $200 salmon dinner I ever had.

Sometimes for fun I buy fruit cake on eBay. It's yummy.
