Selling Limits

I like selling on Ebay but when it comes to help they are useless. I've just starting selling again after a few years away. Been a member since 2008, Started selling with a limit of 10 which is stupid since I once has a store with over a thousand items. Ebays says I need to get my sales up but how do you do that when you only have 10 a month and sell the ten in a couple of days. Come on Ebay get it together,

Selling Limits

If you haven't sold on eBay after a few years away, eBay will treat you and every other person in the same situation, as a new Seller and subject them to new Seller limitations.

eBay makes sometimes major and definitely minor changes to its platform twice a year. They want to make sure that new Sellers and returning Sellers are up to speed on those changes.

They are not singling you out by any means.

August is just a couple of days away- you'll get another 10 listings to use. Successful transactions will result in limit increases- you can request an increase once a month. In my experience, eBay will issue increases automatically when your account is performing well. If you don't get an automatic increase after successfully selling your 10 items in August- then contact CS with the request.

With only 10 listings a month you might want to do good till cancelled listings so that if it doesn't sell in 7 days as an auction, the item will still be available.  You can cancel it before it automatically renews if you don't want it to count as a listing in the next month.

Open a basic store....It's only $5 a month and gives you 250 listings. If you can't afford that you need to move on.

I don't know that having a store increases the listing limits... which is the OP's issue. Does a store raise that?

Dormant selling accounts that suddently start sellinga lot can be a sign that the account has been hijacked.

EBay treats these accounts as "new" accounts and puts limits on them as a form of risk management until they are sure that a scammer is not using the account.

While that may be inconvenient for you, IMHO it is not exactly "stupid" on eBay's part.

Unfortunately. it does not and would be a wasted cost at this point.

It does seem really tedious for new/new-er sellers to work to launch on this site.  I do understand the need for it and certainly, we see enough on here that would get in trouble with even ten listings.

Many start out with just 5, so e-Bay is inching the OP upwards, but I do have to admit, it would be hard to build an online business with only 10 per month, unless these are all high/high-er dollar items.

(I did not go look at the OP's items).

@lamar62956

Since you have been away for a while and are back with some selling "background", maybe reach out to e-Bay on social media (facebook) at this link and see if they will work with you on your selling limits.  We suggested this the other night to another Seller and they did make a small accommodation for her.   It is certainly worth a try?  Good luck to you!

Do not do this: until your selling limits are raised this is a waist of money.

Even with a store, you'll only be able to list 10 items.

Have a great day.
