Sellers not filling in descriptions

I find it very irritating and offensive, that many many sellers are getting really lazy and not even

entering a description of their product, sizes, or condition. They say refer to the photos. Most of the photos are horribly taken. cant see if there are any issues.

If you want to sell your product, do a decent listing please.

Re: Sellers not filling in descriptions

I agree. I'd just skip over those sellers onto the rest. And if there are no more sellers, then sadly that seller was smart enough to know their small market and know they can get away with being lazy.

That actually would tell me to sell in their category too and blow them out of the water.

Agreed. Also have been running into a lot of (usually) unenforceable terms of sale that fill the description in minute detail, yet nothing about the item. Like the other poster, i pass by those listings. Prefer not to buy from angry or bitter sellers.

If someone can’t be bothered giving item information, i can’t be bothered buying there.

Re: Sellers not filling in descriptions

Be advised that "descriptions" may be omitted and not visible depending on your browser.  For example, I was interested in buying from a seller that said "see full item description" in their condition box.  Well, there was NOTHING THERE unless I switched from Firefox to Chrome where all was good.

I have a similar issue with "apps" and those that use the mobile features.

In the meantime, know that ebay has not disabled your "back button" lately, and you are free to make use of it.

Unless it is something you must absolutely, positively have to have, go on to the next.  After a few years of being on GTC, and the seller not selling anything, maybe they will go away.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

Re: Sellers not filling in descriptions

Thanks that is mostly what I do. If I am really interested I do contact them. But really. It tells me they do not care either way to sell. They have no pride.

That is because sellers even after several years are NOT following the policy on Active Content.

Re: Sellers not filling in descriptions

I agree; there are many listings that are woefully inadequate, with "descriptions" such as "See pictures" or "Feel free to ask any questions".  Some simply repeat the listing title.  Forget about measurements or condition.

And sales are down.  Imagine that.

Could it be the back button effect?

Re: Sellers not filling in descriptions

I try to fill out all of the Item Specifics, description, and as many photos from all angles as possible.

I get very few questions, and rarely get an Item Not as Described case, so I must be doing something right! grin

I especially love the ones that talk all about payment and feedback  but say nothing about the actual item  😞  tulips

Yes, the TOS is several paragraphs including I have described this item to the best of my ability~and there is NO description!

Or it says, item may have damage.  Does it or doesn't it?  If you don't know, how will anyone else?

Re: Sellers not filling in descriptions

I agree.

When I'm looking at an item, I'd like to know a little about the item's condition, and not just: Used Condition.

If they can't give a better description then that, I just hit the back button.

Have A Great Day.

There have been posts complaining that answers to questions don't get a sale.

By that time, the buyer has moved on.  There is a small window of opportunity when you have the buyer's attention.  If all the info needed isn't there, even if the buyer asks a question, they can move on in the meantime...and according to the complaints, usually do~especially if it is standard information that should be there.
